  1. JuiceBox (Enel X Way North America) to cease operations effective October 11, 2024

In my case, I don't use the Juicebox for the Lightining, but I DO use it for another EV, a Leaf. The Leaf does not allow for charging to a specified %, like 80%. The old Juicebox app was very user friendly, the new one, less so. But I could tell the app "I have 45% battery left and want to...
  2. Air dam……. It

That looks really nice. What did it cost? How much trouble? My brother knocked off out the lower air dam in the snow at about 6 months of ownership. Has not replaced. We are getting pretty rotten efficiency, but this in rural country roads, towing at times, now with essentially AT tires as...
  3. "Current Leak" fault with Emporia 48A EVSE, ? dirty or damaged J1772 terminal?

Thought had crossed my mind, but the error message from the Emporia is pretty specific. Its detecting a current loss downstream, ie male or female J1772 is the culprit per the Emporia owner manual. I also felt over the breaker panel after 60 min of 48A charging and it was not warm, so I don't...
  4. "Current Leak" fault with Emporia 48A EVSE, ? dirty or damaged J1772 terminal?

Looks nasty compared to the other guys photo. This Lightning lives in a dusty dirty environment. Not much dust when charging, but the charge cover on the Lightning leaves something to be desired. I'm researching how to clean these correctly, and I am contemplating derating the 80A charger to...
  5. "Current Leak" fault with Emporia 48A EVSE, ? dirty or damaged J1772 terminal?

Bear in mind before blaming Emporia for anything -- its been charging at a FCSP nearly exclusively lately. Can no one just tell me -- are the ford terminals shiny silver or a different color? I never paid it any attention till today.
  6. "Current Leak" fault with Emporia 48A EVSE, ? dirty or damaged J1772 terminal?

Ok, the Emporia was installed before we even got the Lightning, May 2023, but used rather infrequently when I visited with my RAV4 Prime. Lightning started using the Emporia in Nov 2023, and used the 48A quite a bit until I got the 80A FCSP installed in March or so. My brother was charging on...
  7. Phone As A Key problem.

You joined a few days ago to post this rant? Why do I have a hard time believing you are anything but a troll Tesla stockholder? I have PAAK enabled on a truck my brother owns. I show up and use it every few MONTHS. I have crappy tmobile service in middle of nowhere. It works flawlessly...
  8. Will a Lightning work for me (towing + frequent offroad use)?

My family farm in western KS got a Lariat ER, courtesy of my insistence. It sees mostly gravel, chalk, and dirt roads. It goes into pastures, though we have avoided the swinging electric gates (they scratch the paint -- all the other trucks are buggered up so we want one truck with decent...
  9. 2 Easter eggs

Well the box is higher and not secure when you go into a bar after your workout playing golf to reward yourself with a brew! And the backseat is full of other stuff! The frunk is also a very nice height to stow stuff. I actually don't golf, so how would I know! But I like the frunk a lot.
  10. How often do you actually use the 9.6 kw pro power on board?

To me, its crazy not to do the 7.2 kw 240v option. That makes your 130+ ER truck into an electricity tanker. Yes, you can then back up many more home appliances (AC, Oven perhaps excepted). BUT, the technology of Hybrid solar/battery systems (aka All inOne) is rapidly maturing. Imagine a...
  11. Found a Lightning fire department truck

North Kansas City is a bit of a midwest outlier. They contracted and installed fiber optic internet to the whole city and made it free for all residents. Tax dollar at work.
  12. PA: $200 EV registration fee starting in 2025

Death and Taxes... Mr Trump has proven that taxes are optional as well. I hope he does not prove that the first given can be overcome.
  13. I need info on home charging

Hmmm.. 48A charger needs a 60A circuit. 60A plug? Does that exist? Technically, needs a 60A GFCI these days if its a plugged circuit. Not sure that exists. Happy to be proven wrong, BUT the cost of 2 60A GCFI circuits may exceed the interval cost of 1 versus 2 Emporia 48A EVSE hard wired...
  14. aftermarket rims with a near stock offset?

I cannot say for sure, but I researched this a couple months ago (when the OEM 20", or are they 19" were full of congealed rock dust and ice) and pretty quick decided that the 64H rims were the solution. They are more open, so you can clean them out, if needed. Aftermarket rims seemed mostly...
  15. aftermarket rims with a near stock offset?

This is perhaps what you desire. You can see in my other posts a picture of my families Lariat that we changed to these rims. Go to ebay and identify the rims based on appearance or the 64H designation.
  16. DCFC station cost

Bear in mind that the electric utilities on one hand want to sell electricity and on the otherhand, they don't. They hate large point demands., especially erratic or unexpected. They like new residential developments where from experience they can predict loads. Ask them for something out of...
  17. Pics of Lightning Trucks Doing Truck Things. Post Yours! 📸

Right at 12k. We have towed up to 18k. The ammonia tanks get towed only short distances (they have SMV signs and are *only* supposed to go 30 mph) of 2-5 miles. Its hard to see, but that's a dampered "cushion" hitch to reduce the push/pull that occurs when towing these weights on farm roads...
  18. Some Tesla superchargers showing "station not compatible" in FordPass -- cannot see at in Tesla app.

North of Gaylord KS, south of 36, west of Smith Center. Smith County KS, home to Lebanon KS, Geographic center of the lower 48. And not much else except cows, corn, wheat (and a lot of whitetails)...... Problem is that Abilene or Salina adds 40 miles or so. Shortest routes are either over St...
  19. Some Tesla superchargers showing "station not compatible" in FordPass -- cannot see at in Tesla app.

This is sad to hear. CCS seems dead, as manufacturers abandon it for NACS, but the fabulous Tesla network appears far less fabulous today. All this turmoil about a standard plug will just slow roll out of charging stations. Having an adaptor (or 2) will help, but wow -- no one warned about...
  20. Anyone have experience with replacing Active Air Dam

Ours is layng in a ditch somewhere. Its just not a practical thing in some places I think.......
