I lost most of these clips when I had to charge the 12v battery to get it to shut up about the low battery level. Module replaced so that should go away but I'm annoyed that Ford would have such a crappy way of securing a panel that clearly has to be removed for a simple maintenance issue...
Yes the pinging of gravel on my new truck wasn't a noise I was happy with! Also the gravel ended up on the running boards and started to scratch them up when you step out. Driving in our first real snow fall here in Nova Scotia tomorrow so I'll see if i screwed everything on properly!
No. I think you have been unlucky. There's some clear plastic strips which are unclear as to how they fit in the instructions' I think they go between the rear metal stays and the bodywork to prevent galvanic corrosion.
I'm in Canada and just ordered from Eastgate Ford Parts in Hamilton Ontario. They were $60 per pair instead of $75. Postage was $33 so that ate this discount. The local dealership wanted to charge $115 to include fitting per pair...... Hopefully this will keep the grit off the running boards...
I think that it's a smart move for Ford as there's a lot of "grey" imports of unusual US vehicles into Switzerland. Stuff like the big minivans and other US-style vehicles that just aren't made by the European manufacturers there. Could be a challenge to park but our apartment in Basel had a '57...
