Just one quibble - I love PlugShare, but to say it "doesn't miss chargers" is just not correct. It is crowd-sourced, so by it's very definition, people will find chargers that it doesn't know about yet. I myself have "added" two chargers that PlugShare did not know about. FWIW those chargers...
I was a little overdue in getting my 20,000 mi service done. Plus, they notified me about 2 "recalls" or required software updates (or whatever the current euphemism is)...
So I booked an appointment, had to wait a few weeks but I know they are pretty busy...
I get a call a week or two ago...
Suggestion: stop trusting the GoM and start practicing math.
Reset one of your trip odometers when you are at a steady-state at your desired speed.
After a few miles it will tell you what your efficiency is (in miles per kilowatt-hour) - for example, 1.2 mi/kWH (worst I've had not when towing...
A few years ago we went skiing in Big Sky, MT, and the outside temps got to the negative 20s at night. Our ICE rental car just died. Even when it 'warmed' up to above zero, it would not work the rental car company had to tow it away and give us a new one.
I know all about efficiency losses due...
What a great thread!
When I was in the army, there were two of us named Rich on my small team, which had the number 025. And I was known as “Rich L” instead of just “Rich” (for my last name). We would stencil our team number after our names, on packing boxes & such. So I had “Rich L 025”...
Yes, before our cursed early spring here in Oregon, we had a pretty long stretch were it didnt get above freezing, and I had some heavy ice buildup underneath - it caused some interesting creaking and popping noises when turning. Went away as soon as it melted.
Great write-up - I will be doing your exact route (except starting from a bit farther away) this weekend, so good to know your efficiency, for example! Thanks for writing it up!
Welcome to the family!
If I can make a suggestion (learned the hard way) - first thing you should do is learn how to estimate your range by SOC% and efficiency. Don't pay attention to the Guess-o-meter (don't ask me how I learned this!)
Aww, nuts - I wonder if it shuts off when it's in Park? If so, that must be the issue...
Edited to add:
Yup, never mind. I didnt realize it had to be in "Drive".
I will now quietly slink away....
Has anyone else noticed this issue?
The rotary light switch is set to "Auto", and "Daytime Running Lights" are enabled when I check the Vehicle Settings on the center display...
But nuthin'!
I just noticed it today, during a fairly significant snowfall in daylight - so there is a fair bit of...
I ran my Lightning down to zero when I first had it - I was trusting the GOM and had to climb a mountain pass to get home.
Bonehead rookie mistake.
My SOC read 0% for about the last 1/2 mile up to my house (and my L2 charger). Man, I was sweating bullets! I was too nervous to think to take a...
Hmm, most of the actuator failures I heard about were right from the start - still probably the most likely culprit - but either way, good luck, and once your dealership gets it figured, circle back & let us know!
Were you EVER able to L3 charge? Or has it been that way the entire month of your ownership?
If so, just like Heliian said, this is a known issue with the charging port - it happened to me as well when I first tried to L3 charge.
Take it back to the dealership.
FWIW, that is the only major...
I use ABRP already for rough planning, but have never used it for a long trip and I have always used it VERY conservativelyu (ie, if it tells me to charge to 75% I will go to at least 80%)
I am trying to move past my range anxiety, here! I had one (shorter) trip this winter that I actually...
In actual answer to your question, I MAY have bought an ICE F150 instead. Not 100% sure, because for 95% of what I do the LIghtning is spectacular. But I live in Central Oregon, and if I want to get out into the _boonies_ - I have to think long and hard about efficiency & where I can recharge...
