I think it is a naïve statement to think there is not some inherent safety concerns to warrant Tesla to take such action and for them to yield so quickly. Enjoy drinking the koolaid. Remember as long as you believe it is great, it it will be great…..at least in your mind.

Have had it for almost a year. Been plugged in most of that time so no general drain issues. I have had it drain the battery as it stayed connected after charging and I didn’t close Car Scanner.
Recently I have had some connection issues with iOS 18. So I have to unplug it and plug it back in.
I have found the CarPlay and Apple Maps is off about 1% SOC so if you are practicing to be the next Kyle Conner, plan ahead or you too will be found on the side of the road dead of charge.
They do offer a PHEV line up does not except CCS but does have a J1772 port. So yeah they could have designed an adapter. Shoot many of us “know people” that have teslas or other PHEV so it would have been nice to offer to charge them when at the house. Sadly a missed opportunity like their...
That would be the combination, but likely the CCS/J1772 part is a weak link even if it was designed to safely work.
If you did go that way, you would likely want to disassemble and remove the DC connection elements and only have the AC pins.
That was one big mistake Ford made by not offering...
