I've got a classic BMW that sits most of the winter, but I take it out every 4-6 weeks for a quick run out on the highway and back. I check the air in the tires, and keep the fuel level high thorughout the winter. Nothing more needed.

They ended up replacing the LVB and not needing to replace the IPMA. I'm curious for an update to see what they actually updated. They told me they had to update "several" modules, but the service writer didn't elaborate.
So I dropped my truck off for 23B57 and 23B70, along with an issue with a parking sensor. They told me that when doing the updates, it required other modules to be updated, and one of them failed to update and is now in failure mode needing replacement.
