  1. EREV - A Horsepower Math Problem?

...what? 30 kW is not a "big ask" for a V6 pentastar. Do you not realize that kW is just a measure of power? 30 kW = 40 hp. Pentastars have been making 200-300 hp peak for over a decade. You'd want to optimize it for this use case, but 30 kW is not some sort of unachievable power output...
  2. EREV - A Horsepower Math Problem?

Yeah, good point. This is the exact kind of reason why GM is trying to push everyone to use the in-car navigation as opposed to something like CarPlay. Even though they would need to pry CarPlay from my cold dead hands, I totally get why they're pushing in that direction
  3. EREV - A Horsepower Math Problem?

This math and assumptions in this are all wrong. You’re confusing peak power output vs average output. Let's start with some of these assumptions: It's not designed to drain the battery down to zero and then start the range extender. That doesn't make any sense. The range extender will...
  4. EREV - A Horsepower Math Problem?

It does not add up for you because none of this math or your assumptions make any sense. You’re all over the place. You’re conflating peak power and average power over time. You’re trying to determine range by talking about power. That’s not how any of this works.
  5. EREV - A Horsepower Math Problem?

It's absolutely painful to read some of these posts. A large portion of you have no idea how these work.
  6. BlueCruise 1.4 is *officially* rolling out

This whole rollout has been confusing to say the least. I do not envy you Brian, but I really appreciate what you're doing, thank you! It seems like I received the 1.4 update, but did not have the toggles available for turn on lane change assist, etc. Then I received an update that gave me...
  7. Passenger streaming music via BT. How do you guys make the switch?

I'm guessing you're connected to CarPlay wirelessly? I'm pretty sure CarPlay utilizes both Bluetooth and Wifi to connect wirelessly to the vehicle. Have you tried connecting via USB cable for your phone, and then your daughter's phone via bluetooth?
  8. New BlueCruise Version 1.4 - Rollout IPMA-24.204.10.9

That's correct. Seems wild to me that Ford would push this update, claiming new features, but then have to include a disclaimer at the bottom that they might not work because it's also dependent on an additional update that they can't seem to push out. In the release, it states: "Sliders to...
  9. New BlueCruise Version 1.4 - Rollout IPMA-24.204.10.9

Thanks. Sounds like I need to get the toggles via FORScan. I thought it was strange that they push this update for BC 1.4, but then describe in the update that the toggles to actually turn on the feature is coming later. I just wanted to confirm I was interpreting that right.
  10. New BlueCruise Version 1.4 - Rollout IPMA-24.204.10.9

Got the update last night. Drove to work this morning which is probably 30 miles of Blue Cruise highway. Seems smoother? Less bouncing back and forth. I didn't have any automatic lane change capability though. I looked in the options and didn't see the ability to turn that on at all. The...
  11. Bilstein 6112's: Is this the best route for my needs?

Putting springs and dampers designed for a gas F-150 on a Lightning is a terrible idea all around. Remove the 2" lift, get an alignment, and replace the OEM shocks if they're worn out.
  12. Add additional power to front storage/cubby area

There is already a standard wireless charger in your front cubby for your trim I thought?
  13. Looking for a replacement charge port door badge

They basically treat the 2024 style badging and doors as superseding to the 2022-2023 style. Creates an issue if you only need one side.
  14. Looking for a replacement charge port door badge

I just went through this whole process. Have a 2023 Lariat that was in an accident. Passenger fender got replaced with the 2024 style fendor. Body shop went back and forth with Ford and couldn't source a 2023 style fender with the fake charge port door. That's fine, but I wanted the driver...
  15. IOS 26 Beta - Anyone try it yet?

What exactly do you expect it to do here? You need to have CarPlay connected to get a read on SoC. It takes that into account when route planning. If you parked the truck with 50% SoC the night before, maps will use that as the starting point for route planning. You want it to get a live...
  16. Just ordered the Meross MSG200HK Garage door opener system - allegedly as CarPlay integration

I have 3 of the Meross ‎MSG100HK added through HomeKit. I have 3 single garage doors. I just named them 1, 2, and 3, and can use voice control on anyone of them. Echo what others said here, which they all popped up on CarPlay, but seems to be the last used one, so it's always a crapshoot...
  17. iOS 18.4 Beta shows CarPlay support for NACS Adapter

For those of us that use CarPlay + Apple Maps because of the battery charge integration, looks like iOS 18.4 is going to include the ability to add Tesla superchargers to your route planning if you have the adapter. Public release of iOS 18.4 will probably be sometime in early April.
  18. Encourage Software Update?

It's hit or miss, just like everything with these updates. I received 6.5 on 9/12. Still no sign of 6.8 or anything else.
  19. PTS/FDRS VIN Check Thread

Any chance someone can check my VIN? I thought it was keeping up to date ok, but they've come to a grinding halt. I don't have the battery voltage sensor changed yet, but I haven't had a single update unable to install. Just seems like I don't get many updates pushed my way. VIN...
  20. Any range gain within spare removed?

Exactly. I'm guessing the 2025 model years are not going to have more advertised range. A spare tire cover is not going to make a difference either. If $10 worth of plastic could improve the range of the truck, Ford would have done it. The car world is very competitive. If there was a...
