  1. Not getting software updates, how do owners know if something is wrong?

That was the complaint, more or less, in the MME forum. A better and more realistic explanation. my take away from 3.5 years is itā€™s complicated, they arenā€™t too certain themselves and are still leaning how to be a software delivery business on top of car manufacturer.
  2. Not getting software updates, how do owners know if something is wrong?

I have a 21 Job 1 MME. BC 1.3 was announced in sometime in fall of ā€˜23(?). It started to drop, then stopped. Lots of communication missteps and/or uncertainty. But it finally arrived over the weekend. Not *soon but fortunately not *never either. Iā€™d rather it be late and right than rushed and...
  3. Trump order freezes funding for Illinois EV charging network

Great. But you may be a unicorn. From a policy position, conservatives responsible for setting and executing policy are hostile to pro-ev and related policies. Just because. Maybe ā€œconservativeā€ is no longer the correct label.
  4. Trump order freezes funding for Illinois EV charging network

Not laying blameā€¦ fairly criticizing him for an unprofessional frat boy response in the immediate aftermath, casting blame himself on unsupportable assertions as to possible causes before bodies and black boxes even recovered.
  5. Ford’s F-150 Lightning is falling behind Tesla’s Cybertruck in deepening EV crisis

Never was much of a car enthusiast nor consider myself an early adopter. I was planning on buying a PHEV in 2021 until I test drove a MME. Iā€™ve really enjoyed driving it. It was definitely an upgrade to a 12yo Accord. In form and function.
  6. Ford’s F-150 Lightning is falling behind Tesla’s Cybertruck in deepening EV crisis

The bed shape and many more rack options is a big differentiator for truck stuff imo for contractors and non-contractors alike. even an old el Camino could do some truck-lite stuff. and I didn't want a plug-in by choice.
  7. Ford’s F-150 Lightning is falling behind Tesla’s Cybertruck in deepening EV crisis

Youā€™ll probably be waiting awhile. A general opinion may be that the lightning was designed to do truck stuff but with a battery. The CT is tech on wheels designed to look different and maybe do *some truck-like things. apples and pears, maybe.
  8. Anyone move from a Tesla Model X to a Lightning? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Sure, tech can be cool but I get in my car or truck and drive. Most of my charging is at home. i donā€™t require my car to remind me to plug in. Coming over from the MME forum, the complaints I heard the most was overall build quality. I like how both mine drive and so far no particular build...
  9. Squirrel Chewed Through Charging Wires

Iā€™ve tried cayene in my bird feeders, with some mixed results. I may not be diligent enough in using it. pro tip: avoid applying when breezy outside
  10. This will be my last attempt at a Lightning Road Trip

Thanks for the PR opinion, Adrian Dittman.
  11. NEMA 14-50 Outdoor Box

if there are dcfc chargers between Home and Camp, as back up, a new charger may be an unnecessary expense. And on a 14-50 would never use the full 48amps
  12. This will be my last attempt at a Lightning Road Trip

ABRP and PlugShare are recommended companions apps for good road trip planning (plan a chargers and plan b). use fordnav for precondtioning but ā€œfail to plan, plan to fail (or at least be disappointed) Fwiw I donā€™t roadtrip much but have the apps when I need them and refer back to the forums...
  13. Do I really need both of these adaptors?

Huh? I have not yet used my ford nacs adapter nor the destination charger. I used my ford mobile adapter on a plain old wall outlet in my apt buildings garage. I used CP L2s, EvGo dcfc and L2s, EA dcfc, have Plug & Charge enabled. 95% of my charging is now at home in my garage. I pop the...
  14. TripleAliners First Giveaway – Don’t Miss Out! And Enjoy 15% Discount with "HappyDay"āš”ļøšŸŽ

Each vendor will profess to be better than the others on their main pages. I've been reviewing comments across various products and forums to get a sense about which is the best fit for my use and needs, since everyone's is different. I think the code was valid for the give-away period only. I...
  15. We need a snow driving mode

I get your train of thought. However, Iā€˜ve been driving 1 PD since 2 weeks after getting my MME 3.5 years ago. except for borrowing a 6 speed manual a few weeks while some repairs were being made and a week with a loaner while getting recall action completed. so, 2 PD is cognitive load for me...
  16. Ford Tesla Adapter Case Found

I went with with Apache 1800 box. It fits the Ford NACS adapter and a Tesla destination adapter together. Easy to store in either EV or on the shelf. Just need to remember to grab it from the shelf or *other ev when leaving on a the trip šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø
  17. Hello

There are dozens. React, share something youā€™ve learned or experienced (good, bad, neutral) with your ā€˜22. Itā€™s easier than socializing at the office holiday party (for some). Sometimes an OP wants to hear if anyone had a similar experience before attempting a diy fix and/or go to dealer. and...
  18. DIY MagSafe iPhone Charger Setup

I noticed my phone was hot the last time I used it so added a cord to use instead. What about placing the puck over the existing pad? Or mounting it to a separate pad, laying on top, so that the phone is still viewable on the angle, as designed? Would there be interference from or issue with...
  19. 12v outlet in truck bed

Accessory mode? It stays on for a bit. Or, turn off the auto shutoff feature and be sure to lock the truck when you walk away?
