Hey all,
This past Friday, my dealer sent mobile service to update and resolve the front sensor issue. I did notice he didn't hook up power to the 12v until an hour into the update. It took about 2 hours for it to update. While the front sensor issues seem to be resolved, I have noticed the...
Nature of the beast, technology has been rapidly evolving since the dawn of man. The second the first truck was built at the assembly plant it was out of date. I’m excited for the new stuff coming.
Yes but the T-3 that Ford is working on now coming in 2027 will be the next generation of the Lightning. It was always meant to be the successor and will carry the name
The base rate is high, at 16.8c/kWh. Sure, you get free charging from 7 pm to 12:59 pm, but with my current provider, I get 12.5c/kWh for all energy. It sounds good, but it's really more expensive for me.
I recently took a trip from Austin to visit family in South Texas. On the way down, I made just one charging stop at the Corpus Christi Tesla Supercharger. Once I arrived, I was able to charge overnight at our family home before heading off to South Padre Island. The truck performed incredibly...
Okay, this time, I got the Tufskinz Door Sill Kit with my Ford Points. Thanks to @BennyTheBeaver for his review! They look really sharp.
I also got this harness to power my dash cam from the rearview mirror without needing to splice or tap any wires (yes, I did cut the excess from the zip...
Sorry, I forgot to reply. This is the product:

Its easy to install and looks sharp too
I have an ER, it’s about 243 miles from the center of SA to McAllen. Hwy range is supposed to be like 260 at 65mph but I don’t like those margins, it’s really tight. You can stop in Kingsville at a dealer to charge but then you are limited by their operating hours, Sundays are a no go. Until the...
I agree; when they announced it, it was the factor that led me to buy my lightning. There was also a
Texas' National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) grant for additional sites and upgrades, the McAllen Tesla Supercharger should be upgraded soon to have compatibility with our lightning and...
Yeah, the Valley is behind, but if you have a Tesla Adaptor, whether A2Z, Ford, or Lectron, you will be in good shape; there are three NACS Tesla-compatible chargers in the lower valley: Mercedes, Harlingen, and Brownsville. There are also Destination Chargers at the Hotels on South Padre Island.
Thanks for your feedback. On my spreadsheet, I started at 82% SoC and charged to 100%, costing $5.51. At the end of the trip, I went from 20% to 85%, which is my usual SoC.
I appreciate you pointing out the issue with my gas calculations. You're right; I mistakenly included a full tank refill...
I'm not sure how I'm counting the tank twice. If you look at my spreadsheet, I started at 82% SoC and charged to 100% SoC before starting the trip. Normally, I keep the truck at 85% SoC, but I did some driving before preparing to leave. Then, when I returned, I was at 20% SoC and charged back up...
I see where you're coming from, and I agree that fast charging on road trips with the Lightning can be nearly as expensive as fuel prices, especially here in Texas. You might see a larger margin in California due to higher gas prices.
Most of my charging is done at home, where the cost savings...
