Thank you! Would you happen to have the hose schematic. I'm still finding it hard to believe that there are heater hoses that are NOT part of the ev battery system that should be covered under warranty ?
That's why I was getting pissed with the service writer. All I'm thinking is charging, batteries all EV connected warranty. Manager tells me it a heater hose only. But if it is in use while charging, should be considered part of the Ev stuff. But I have to fight these guys every time I walk in...
So, a little update. finally got into the dealer to have them check the truck out. A couple of days ago I crawled up under the truck and could see some coolant drops around the back side of the front motor. This is a very slow leak; the coolant reservoir barely went down to the lower line in...
I would say after 40 plus years as a mechanic, if I confused blinker fluid with coolant, I would fire myself! LMAO. I am very consistent on checking the coolant level.
This seems most likely. Charge cycle complete. Added 52kWh. No leak ? Coolant tank at line. Strange. But we know it won't get better. Ill keep an eye on it as usual.
I just got done looking at Munros break down of the cooling system. That is definitely a rat's nest... Think I'll start at the top, take look under the frunk panel. Hopefully the leak is obvious.
I agree. I just hate waiting. Never liked bringing any of my cars to the stealership for anything. Been a mechanic my whole life. Ill poke around and see what's what. If it requires more effort than I am willing to expend. I'll take it in on the appointment date. Thanks.
As usual dealer can't even get to the truck for 10 days. Still under warranty. Is it worth even looking to see if it's something simple that I can tighten or replace on my own? Easier removing the frunk components or plates underneath?
So as usual I charge my truck almost every morning when I get home. Went to sleep got up in the afternoon. Backed the truck up out of the garage and noticed a small puddle. Checked and sure as shit, coolant. So, I check the coolant tank. Very low. Awe hell no. I don't have any coolant. Unusual...
Well, at work last night I plugged in the level 1 evse to a generator that happened to be in for a pm check. It was on charge for 6 hours. And going by just the gage, it didn't warm the battery at all. It was 1° last night. So. Maybe with a monitor it went up a couple degrees, but on the dash...
I thought about this too . My generator being 220v running for say .5 hours before I leave for my drive home. Would probably be enough to warm / precondition the battery. It was 0° f last night. The battery was just above the bottom line on the temp gage. Doesn't seem to hurt anything except...
