This is interesting and I saw the writing in the wall. BTW this is not going to be the POS BMW REX. Ford does know a thing or two about building motors, so it is likely going to work pretty well and may appeal to a broader market. Glad the folks at the Rouge plant will keep jobs and have new...
Like many, my Ford app got some kind of backend update and the Pro Power Onboard option showed up:
The only problem is that it doesn’t appear to do anything. I started the truck and turned on Pro Power from inside the truck and tried looking at this setting and all it shows is the following...
Something that VW has realized and is doing now. They tried to do software but it was abysmal. They are now moving to a zonal architecture with Rivian doing the software. It would be pretty great if they took over Fords software in a similar way.
I looked into this. The smaller clips are available from Ford. The only way to get the larger clips is to purchase a whole new trim piece. The best option is to 3D print them as others have said. PETG would hold up well or even a glass reinforced nylon if you feel like getting exotic and have a...
Thankful that Ford is still making thoughtful and needed updates for us EV drivers. Love Ionna and this was a good moved from Ford. Like others I echo the need for charge account support, but this is a really hard problem to solve with the disperste charging systems that Ford does not own. VW is...
I didn’t know we had lightnings in 2021 MY. So what you are saying is the APIM is starting to roll out randomly to those outside the 2024/2025 group?
So the real question is whether the new APIM updates are showing for 22-23 MY’s. I don’t have my PTS sub anymore to check. Hoping that Ford starts staging them soon.
In my case the anomaly was the flashing blue light. Mine has always shown the white light for a minute after disconnecting the truck, followed by turning solid blue light.
UPDATE:
And just like that it went back to its old behavior where it is solid white after I unplug but goes back to solid blue in a few minutes after that. No more flashing. Not sure what got fixed.
That does not work for a long roadtrip. You need the ability to type in a destination and have it calculate charge stops along with the time you need to charge. I am guessing many have never experienced this level of convenience full EV route planning brings. The Tesla app is just good for...
Android Auto is the best solution to the problem in the absence if true built in NACS routing. It is one of the few solutions that has preconditioning. Sadly I am on iOS so I have a nerfed integration that works okay but is not as good as the Android Auto integration.
Maybe you’re missing the point of my post. We gained NACS Superchargers access a long time ago. Up until a few weeks ago, all anyone could do was rely on a half-baked CarPlay/Android Auto integration to navigate long multi-stop trips where NACS Superchargers were exclusively used (The only...
The lack of NACS routing for <2024 models is why I can’t and won’t use the built in nav. I want to use it, and am even willing to pay the subscription when it comes due, but not if Ford has seemingly abandoned users of vehicles below 2024 which they seemed to have done here with this latest...
