What I find annoying is you can choose the charging location, it won’t replace where it currently wants you to charge at. So it kind of makes it useless when you’re using Apple Maps for a long-ish trip that takes more than 1 charge stop.
That certainly sucks, but is this a known issue? Or just some bad luck? Maybe I haven't been reading enough on the forums, but I just haven't seen a lot of posts like this.
Can you explain more on this? Not trying to derail the post, but I'm not aware of these issues. The way you're talking it sounds like something that I should expect?
As a newb, can you explain what is often wrong? I haven't noticed mine being wrong, but maybe I'm not 100% verifying the SOC? Or is it something else that is often wrong?
It was impressive that they were still going over MSRP this late. I personally waited because I knew a mass produced product would eventually get under MSRP. Glad I waited.
As for this post, what is a A/Z plan?
It's kind of a shame you had one following the other the whole time. I'm kind of wondering if the wind turbulence created by the leading truck caused issues with mileage on the trailing truck. It would be nice to do this again flipped to see what the outcome is.
If your local dealer told you that they can't do anything more, wouldn't this then fall under a lemon? I don't understand that just because they didn't sell you the truck, they wouldn't work with Ford and take responsibility for it.
It's between Orlando and Miami. It used to have an old dive bar and even worse hotel attached, but a semi truck smashed into it a few years ago. It used to be a location that you didn't really want to stop unless you had to, but now it's getting better.
I was poking around on the Ford app at chargers and saw one show up that wasn't available yet, but showed 200 chargers. I thought it was a mistake, but nope https://floridainsider.com/business/fl-turnpike-will-host-largest-tesla-charging-station-in-the-world/
I did search yeehaw junction, so...
I'm a bit of a newb, so ignore me, but if it happened that way, it might be just that it dropped from the higher 100+kw down to a more normal 50-60kw after 80% and it just kind of dropped too low to make the actual adjustment. Almost like 'hey, kill the power, ok, now lets go to 50kw' but it...
So I keep one in my trunk/frunk after reading how people had issues after a software update. Not saying this was the culprit, more that this makes me wonder if we should just do a nice cold reboot once every quarter or 6 months or so. Kind of like back in the old Windows days. I'm 20 years from...
It doesn’t show it now, but a couple weeks ago it showed that it was starting construction on 9/27 (I think that was the date) and we were leaving the following day. Now it doesn’t even show on the Tesla app. I didn’t drive by to see what they were doing. Hopefully expanding.
I was originally going to FL City, with Key Largo as a backup, but thankfully the Ford app told me the Tesla stations were going to be under construction so I knew the EA was going to be full.
I was then going to Kendal Village, but these (EA and Tesla) always seemed to be more than 50% full...
Look at the Maverick vs Ranger numbers. Really shows that people want a smaller truck. CAFE needs to adjust to allow smaller trucks to be easily made.
And yes, I do see the F150 numbers. Obviously full size trucks are the most popular, as they were in the 80s, but people do love little trucks...
TLDR: Was a nice trip without any issues and was very enjoyable using the Lightning.
Decided to take the Lightning to Key West. I bought an A2Z adapter as mine from Ford isn't going to arrive until November. We brought our bikes, so kind of made the decision to use the Lightning. Side note...
