1/2 of the idiots wouldn't realize it was an EV until they were driving it away. Mine doesn't have a spot in the garage, so it sits outside all night. I'd like to score the insurance discount also (though someone else posted I may be able to claim it anyway).
Agree, that is par for the course for Ford. This is what I do see in the demo video that says it is NOT for Lightnings:
I'm very interested in being able to get this as my insurance carrier has a discount for having a vehicle tracking system in it such as Lo/Jack which I'm hoping that this...
So this popped up in the FordPass app today:
Unfortunately it just leads to this:
I could only find one previous thread on this from 2022 and it looks interesting if they're going to give it to us on the Lightnings...
There absolutely is value to this. EVSEs do fail and it can be a significant headache. I bought my first EV in 2015 and my EVSE bit the dust about 1 year in. It was still under warranty, so it was replaced for free, but it took 10 days to ship it to them and get the replacement. In the...
Thanks for the information, Chrysler is not so generous in my experience.
I will never ever buy a 3rd party warranty. I have a close friend that is an adjuster for one of the large 3rd party warranty company. She will tell you never to buy a warranty from her company.
If I'm not going to drive the truck for a week or more, I throw it on a battery maintainer (BatteryMinder to be specific). I too have installed a pigtail for quick connections. I keep my camper's Deep Cycle attached to one all winter long and it has never fried it. As a result, I've got a 10...
Thank you for sharing the link. My dealer wanted $6k for the 10/100 w/$100 deductible and Granger is offering it for $2,465 and will finance it for $493 down and 18 months at 0%.
I do have a follow on question though. What are people's opinions on the deductible? We have only bought an...
I doubt it is something they would take away from you considering the language in the features descriptions. In your case you should just get stuck in time with the map and of course no live traffic, etc.
It does not. In the 2023s and prior, it is true that it becomes dumb navigation. In the 2024s if you do not subscribe to Connected Navigation, you get nothing but a basic map of your location and absolutely no navigation capability.
I stumbled across this nugget of information when I was...
They probably do.
Subscription revenue streams are becoming the lifeblood of companies. HP figured this out for printers. You can buy a nice HP inkJet printer for <$90 and HP will tell you it costs them >$200 to make it. They make money because you have to subscribe to an ongoing service...
The only difference is that SiriusXM will market you for the next 10 years through every other week e-mails and monthly via post. They are absolutely relentless. We had a 2014 Chrysler 300c that was totaled and they STILL market us to renew the subscription.
There are two reasons I will not pay for BlueCruise: I find it to be of very little utility over TACC/Lane Keeping and Ford is showing no signs of efforts to improve their product.
In addition to my '24 Lariat, I have a '21 Tesla MYP and my wife drives a '23 Tesla MYLR. The Autopilot...
I can afford it easily. But I also refuse to pay for garbage products as it only encourages them to continue doing what they are doing. There is one simple reason why Ford dropped the price and it sure is not out of the kindness of their heart.
They know their product is bad because they are...
I'll answer this in two ways. I have a 2024 Lariat ER.
If I had it all to do over again, no, I wouldn't have bought it knowing what I know now. I love the truck itself, but the technology side of the vehicle is a complete excrement-show and I have spent more time messing around with...
Yeah, if I use Tesla's FSD as a baseline at $99/month or $8k lifetime, BlueCruise is worth about $5/month for what it does. I *MIGHT* go $10, but would only subscribe for a single month if I was going on a long, mostly Interstate, trip.
I've read up on Comma in the past and I find it interesting. From what I can see, support for the Lightning is not official as of yet. I don't think you can buy a adapter harness and have to build it yourself.
Maybe I'm working off of old information?
