  1. Frunk envy

Maybe. My instinct would be to bring a chair and sit on that in the bed. Separately, the scout looks cool though not sure how different it is from the Rivians. Though i don’t see how lightning owners would have frunk envy.
  2. Lightning as a battery backup split loads

thanks. Is there an option to use non-enphase batteries in this setup? Or is everything tied up in their own proprietary eco systems?
  3. Lightning as a battery backup split loads

I have enphase solar but not the ford charger. Currently my solar shuts off when the power goes out. I haven’t pursued it but was envisioning adding a small battery that serves as a sort of hub. It would be charged from the solar and power the house in the event of an outage. Additionally, the...
  4. FordPass 5.7.0 for iOS & Android released

The app is borderline unusable still but slowly improving. Seems like one time charge doesn’t work and changing target charge and departure times works maybe 33% of the time. However as long as it remotely starts, locks/unlocks, and opens the trunk I’m good
  5. Rear-ended, $13K in repairs!

I’ve been debating keeping a large trailer hitch on at all times just for this reason. Will certainly bang my knee more than once but…
  6. Leaves in the radiator? Why is it designed like this?

I used BBQ tongs and then bought this on Amazon. https://a.co/d/1O4XhIp
  7. ECG-24.2.5.6.2 Technical Adj of Send/Rcv Software [24.2.5.6.2.2]

My updates are on fire since 10/7 when I got 6.3, 6.5, 6.8 every other day and this past week received 6.14, the driver alertness one, and this one (6.2 not .2.2) this morning. seems like ford figured something out. Only visible change is the SOC on the dash but presumably some good back end...
  8. OTA Software Update - 10.1.0 - It's karaoke time

I just got 6.5 on Tuesday. not sure why ford doesn’t just roll out one update at a time and hit everyone in a month. The overhead to maintain multiple continuous and simultaneous rollouts must be insane
  9. 2023 Lightning Lariat ER

Best bet is to buy lightly used. Many out there are from people that towed or didn’t plan ahead for charging logistics. Their depreciation loss is your gain.
  10. Remote Start on used Lightning not working

Are there specific instructions for pulling the 12v? Do I just unclip the negative?
  11. Remote Start on used Lightning not working

I purchased a new to me 2023 Lariat a few weeks ago and have a very inconsistent Ford App experience. I'm coming from a MachE where I never really had functionality issues as described below. 1. My phone is connected as a PAAK and it automatically unlocks when I approach and usually works to...
  12. Confused about CSP 24B56 - front sensor error

No, I'm not the original owner. The CSP isn't showing up in the App or online. My recall list says No Recalls, No CSPs The letter to dealers does say they should repair it for any owner with this issue. Not sure about the requirement to reproduce, but I'm assuming they can test the sensor...
  13. Would a Lightning address my issues with the MachE? and other newbie questions

Thanks everyone for the replies. I found a deal I was happy with on a 2023 Lariat ER with about 8K miles, spray in liner, and tonneau. I was able to get 33K for the MachE so the net depreciation hit wasn't too painful. Most importantly, the Lightning is awesome and definitely was the right...
  14. Confused about CSP 24B56 - front sensor error

I recently purchased a 23 Lariat and have seen this error message sporadically (3 times total). Additionally, my camera does not automatically come on when I'm parking. It sounds like this CSP is my issue, but I haven't received a letter nor can I see it in my Ford.com vehicle dashboard. With...
  15. Would a Lightning address my issues with the MachE? and other newbie questions

it’s possible, at least for my wife. I do use OPD, but keep it in whisper mode with passengers. I find the actual brake pedal is pretty sensitive so I think whisper is smoothest if I feather the “gas” while braking. From what I can tell, the backseat is an unbearable ride regardless.
  16. Would a Lightning address my issues with the MachE? and other newbie questions

Thank you everyone and the consensus inspires some confidence. For more information, the MachE was supposed to be used as my wife’s commuter vehicle so even if I took the risk of after market parts, it’s unlikely she’ll drive it anyways. Fortunately I can swing the loss on the MachE Regarding...
  17. Would a Lightning address my issues with the MachE? and other newbie questions

Thanks. is this in addition to the federal credit? Does it apply for vehicles purchased out of state? I ask because I learned post Mach e purchase that my dealer rolled the state credit into their “discount” price, while dealers out of state would have given the same discount, which I then...
  18. Would a Lightning address my issues with the MachE? and other newbie questions

I currently have a 2023 Premium Mach E Extended Range that I bought in May (Ford Financing). It's fun to drive for the most part, but the suspension in the Northeast is a nightmare to the point that my kids won't ride in the backseat (I don't blame them) and my wife gets motion sick in the...
