I have a 2024 and it's not as useful of a feature as people think. It powers off after about 10 minutes of detecting less than ~100W. If you use your truck for intermittent loads (air compressor, fridge, power tools, welding, concrete mixer), or use your truck for very light continuous loads...
I use CargoBuckle G3's. I didn't permantently mount mine to box links through, but they do stay strapped there when not in use. They hold my side by side in the bed, among other things (see pfp).
Had this happen to me after folding the shifter. It never popped into the correct final position to engage the interlock. Must have been off by a fraction and then just got stuck there. It caused the shifter folder button to no longer work too, and bricked my truck since I couldn't engage the...
For 2024+ models, PPO will turn off if the truck cannot detect a load greater than ~90W for more than 10 minutes while the vehicle is off. You can work around this by keeping the truck in ACCESSORY (no brake + power button) mode or ON (brake + power button) mode, but it comes with a risk:
The...
Also experiencing this and it's frustrating. Use case: Dometic CX7 series fridge in the frunk. This fridge can't suffer a power outage or food spoils.
All I want is for the outlets to function as advertised.
Vehicle Power Down Timer: OFF
Pro Power Onboard: ON
Frunk: ON
Keep on when vehicle is...
If it's throwing a yellow wrench icon at any point, it's storing a DTC which the dealer should be able to pull. Mine ended up being P0929 in the GSM which was a problem detected with Ford's rediculous self moving shifter feature. They replaced the shifter assembly to resolve the issue.
Don't...
Truck is back. The cause was apparently P0929, a fault with the shifter where it detects it's not being put into the commanded position. It throws a powertrain failure for some reason. There wasn't actually a problem with the powertrain. Their fix was to replace the entire shifter assembly...
Based on my research here, it looks like there are two common causes of this error:
1. "Powertrain Malfunction - Power Reduced" + actually reduced power: This is usually a bad battery module, where an implausible or unstable voltage is detected.
2. "Powertrain Malfunction - Power Reduced" but...
Old 26' (I think) camper, sticker says 4400lbs but there's probably 1500lbs of payload.
0.8 mi/kWh at around 60-65 MPH
1.1 mi/kWh at around 45-55MPH (amazing how much slowing down helps)
50F. Drove about 210 miles and stopped twice to charge (last stop was just for like 10 minutes). Rained a...
*UPDATE: "Powertrain Malfunction - Power Reduced" fault was resolved by replacing the shifter assembly (part NL3Z-7210-AK, TSB 25-2045). It was not a problem with the actual powertrain.
Ford should do what Tesla used to do and use a momentary shifter. Then all commanded positions appear on the...
i just started getting this issue too, appears and disappears as if nothing ever happened. Once on 4/30, it disappeared after letting the truck sit a few hours. The next day I towed a heavy load for 200 miles, no issues. Another wrench and powertrain fault on 5/4 when on a 200 mile trip back...
The truck also has a "Vehicle Power Down Timer" setting because Ford really really really doesn't want its customers using PPO, probably because they know a warranty repair from actual use is going to be expensive AF.
Should be buried somewhere in vehicle settings.
Cab PPO is on by default while vehicle is on.
Frunk PPO is off by default while vehicle is on.
Bed PPO is off by default when vehicle is on.
All the above reset to default values as soon as the vehicle is powered off unless "keep PPO on when vehicle is off" is enabled (2024+). This setting is...
My wishlist:
Make charging stations tappable on the screen, and at any zoom level.
If I turn on recirculation, leave it on. I'm a grown up, if it fogs up, I'll turn it off.
If I turn on sport mode, leave it on sport mode. Don't reset it on every startup.
Stop giving me warnings and nags and...
It's unfortunate that Ford software sucks so much that we even have to do this. Road tripping a Ford EV is like playing on hard mode. When I get in my 6 year old Tesla and road trip, it's like I enabled a cheat mode.
Just a hard tonneau cover, so maybe 100lbs.
Sounds like the same issue. And yeah, 47MPH is precisely when I notice it. Mine completely goes away with Sport mode enabled. I'm certain it's drivetrain /software related.
One thing I didn't try was to disable one-pedal driving and see what it does...
For those with small (50" wide) ATVs or SxS- Mad Ramps might be worth a look (not an ad, just my own experience). They connect to the trailer hitch receiver and relieve the weight on your tailgate. Ramps pull out and pivot for stowing. My Honda weighs jsut over 1000 lbs stock, but in normal...
2024 Flash + max tow
I'm getting a pulsing feeling while cruising around 45MPH on a flat or slight uphill. I feel it in the seat, not the steering wheel. It's not extreme, It feels sort of like a slightly inbalanced rear wheel, like there's ice on the inside of the wheel, but I'm certain that's...
