Yeah, I guess this is as much art as science. I think when road tripping I would always take the opportunity to charge MORE if possible and go grab a bite/take a leak/take a walk if there was someplace nearby to do so. I guess that is really the feature I'd like to see in Google Maps and ABRP...

Just read that Motortrend article. That chart they came up with is very interesting, and counterintuitive to what I expected (I don't own a Lightning yet). I did not expect that road tripping at 75MPH and fast 15 min charging sessions would be the sweet spot for overall time on a long trip.

I did something similar once. Had to drive 250 miles to my best buddy's bachelor party. My cars brakes were not that great, so the day before I slapped on new pads and rotors. Must have forgotten to torque lug nuts properly, and drove 200+ miles before I noticed a weird noise when getting back...

I have seen a few reacquired ones online. Mostly they are not THAT great a deal, and since this is "new tech" and I only plan on keeping it for 3-4 years, it would have to be a screaming hot deal.

Thanks for the clarification. The "auto hitch" would be cool I guess, but as long as we have a decent camera view of the ball I am pretty good at that myself so no loss there. The onboard scales - I assume these are used by the software as well to calculate range etc? I can live without those...
