My unpopular opinion, don't buy one. A lot of folks end up without any major issues, which is great, but if you are one of the unlucky few, it's hit or miss finding a dealership with competent EV techs. Ford Corporate will be almost worthless in supporting you, and will give you the runaround.
Ford sup
This. Because Ford will try every possible way to gaslight you and not take responsibility. My leaking moonroof issue is still unresolved (part of arbitration, so we'll see where we land) but the dealer told me that ensuring the drain lines are unclogged is part of the owner...
I said that after being stranded during Thanksgiving and dealer claiming to have resolved the issue. Guess what? We got stranded again during Christmas, and issue still exists after 4 repair attempts.
Sounds like the same issue I am experiencing and it's been an absolute nightmare dealing with Ford. Four repair attempts, ~30 days out of service, and major gaslightning from dealer and Ford corporate telling me I was either using a bad charger or not plugging the charger in properly. Replacing...
Update:
I held off on posting this until I got Ford's official response from the Field Service Engineer visit.
The FSE had the car all day last Friday for an inspection, and of course came back and said everything checked out - no charging issues, and no issues with water leak. As I already...
Dealership called that they replaced a part and car should be fixed, but they are unable to test DC charging because they charged the car to 100% using a level 2 charger, so it's on me to drive it for a bit and test DC charging. Can't make this up.
Ford is sending a Field Service Technician...
Sounds like the same issue I've been dealing with - https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/service-vehicle-soon-error-after-ecg2-25-2-8-5-update-broke-again.32843/
Car's in for the third time since Thanksgiving and this time they've had it for over 10 days. Left us stranded during...
Got a call from service advisor saying "the car is charging. We will test it and get back to you". That was early yesterday, but been radio silence since then. Not very convincing.
Unfortunately, relationship with dealership seems to be strained at this point after my many escalations and...
I sure did and absolutely regret it. My 2024 Lightning Platinum is with the dealer for the third time in 30 days while the dealer and Ford give me the runaround. I’ve filed a lemon law request with my state’s DMV and even if I lose, I’ll get rid of it for a loss and move on. Thankfully, I can...
All the pins look good. Frustrating because I've asked for that, but dealer seems to insinuate that they have to diagnose it first before replacing per Ford requirements/process.
This has evolved into a nightmare. Now I’m also having intermittent issues with Level 2 charging at home. As of tonight, DC charging completely broken again for the third time in 1 month while the dealer tells me (and Ford) that it’s bad chargers and not an issue with the truck. Since I’m...
Just got a call from the dealer to come pickup the truck. They said they can’t find any issue other than the DC system shutting down due to potentially faulty DC charger, and once that happens, they have to clear the code for it to work.
Twice at two separate superchargers leaves me skeptical...
Some bad news - issue returned again. We were headed out of town for Christmas, stopped at a Tesla supercharger, plugged in and got the error. Wife has now placed an embargo on using the Lightning for trips out of town since we've been left stranded twice :frown:
Turned back home and noticed...
