I used the "Snap & Zap" extensions on my 2018 and they exceeded any expectations I had. I don't believe they have a model for the gen14's yet, but I'm only mentioning it because:
I highly recommend the brand if/when they have a 2021+ compatible model
They're still stashed away in the camper...
I'm teetering on that conclusion as well. As much as I love the F150, my current one has been problematic since I drove it off the lot.
I fully appreciate the unique challenges that come with a new generation of vehicle, pandemics, staffing shortages, supply chain limitations, etc. but the...
Interesting - thank you!
I can 100% understand the interference; I understand carplay using wifi for its communications, so that does make sense. I suppose what really had me scratching my head was that
the audio does continue... it just sounds different. Other than the brief drops before...
Given the long list of more important frustrations with my truck, I honestly haven't spent a lot of time / effort in figuring this out, but it really has me stumped. I'm wondering if anyone has had any similar experience or insight that can help me figure this out:
For better or worse, I am a...
I had a surplus of points from my previous truck, so I redeemed the combined balance for the OEM bed extender. It's definitely not as nice as aftermarket ones I've seen, but it's definitely handy when partitioning off a "grocery section" in the bed.
For smaller (or fewer) items, I've found...
I'd tend to agree. I'm not sure if it's brand-specific or simply that the tech has evolved, but the ACC in my wife's 2016 Honda Pilot LOVES to "panic brake". I feel like a fighter pilot when driving it, with my thumb on the cancel button, ready-to-fire the instant someone enters the "follow...
Thanks for the offer! I have done the master reset - twice prior to my last visit, and once more since (at the guidance of Ford online support). Other than purging any customizations/settings, there was no change in the Sync behavior observed doing these.
I had also removed and re-added the...
You are correct, both the milage and age are still well within the threshold for making a claim. That being said, I've had some attorney friends advise me that PA's stipulation that, once a claim has been officially submitted, the dealer is required to have one or more opportunities to correct...
I'm three visits in as well. After they replaced my TCU on the last visit, I now have no connectivity whatsoever, so until this promised "fix" gets released I don't even have FordPass or its remote start / securalert / monitoring functions.
I've made serious inquiries into buyback / lemon law...
Good luck and please let us know how it goes! I'm still holding out for this supposed fix that they're saying will come in Feb. If that either doesn't happen or doesn't work I may be following in your footsteps.
I'm not sure what you mean by this... Maps can be used on your phone directly just like any of the other apps. I used it last night in my daughter's 2011 Nissan.
I've also used it (as well as Google maps) occasionally in the city when not even driving for walking or public transit guidance.
Yeah, for a guy that, up until a few years ago swore I'd never get sucked into the "Apple universe", I'm now in it up to my eyeballs! I'm definitely not one of those "if it's not apple it must suck" people, but I've definitely fallen prey to dependency on the integration between their products...
Yeah, I didn't realize this was a regional feature, and now I feel like I'm taunting people with this post. I assure you that was not my intent! ?
Apple claims they intend to release more areas in the near future, but it seems the maps are/will be limited to major metro areas...
Technically, yes... They added user-reporting capabilities a few versions back; it's a very simplistic "Speed Check", "Accident", or "Hazard" option.
In actuality, no... I don't know if it's due to fewer users, lack of knowledge of the feature, or some general software characteristic, but...
Ahhh.... so, not to dampen anyone's expectations here, but it was just brought to my attention that the improved interface is actually not related to the recent iOS update. Apparently, Apple just released expanded coverage of its "Detailed City Experience" maps, which now includes the Philly...
Ah yes!
I'll never forget getting lost somewhere outside of Oswego NY many years ago. My buddy told me to "grab the map" from his glove box...
it was a map of the entire continental USA!
<<GenX Facepalm>>
For sure, it's definitely a very subjective preference. My wife still insists on her Waze, and it works perfectly for her! I admit that (for no particular reason) I've never really given Google a fair shake as my primary nav app, but on the occasions I have it definitely felt lacking in...
I've been using Apple maps pretty much exclusively for a few years now, but I too was very reluctant at first (and with good reason - it was a hot mess when it first rolled out). I had been using Waze since beta, so I actually felt some strange sense of loyalty to it. I still have no major...
