Look around for used winter tires/wheels that people are taking off. Last spring I purchased Take off 2020 Lariat rims/sensors with studded winter tires, all used for about five months, for $600. Even if you just buy take off rims, you can usually buy them on Kijiji for less than new steel...
Try Kijiji, I bought a set of like new 18" take offs with sensors and winter tires used for one winter for $600. I saw several sets of rims alone for around $300 for a set of four.
The rear brake assist is an attempt to idiot proof some incompetent drivers, but those of us that are capable of driving safely without this crap, find it more of a hazard than a benefit.
After having the rear braking assist suddenly apply the brakes while backing into my garage for the third time, this time causing the vehicle to slide on the ice and almost hit the door frame, I disabled the rear raking assist. I have no idea why brakes were applied, there was nothing the truck...
Last spring, I did some online searching(kijiji) and found a set of take off Lariat aluminum wheels with sensors, and studded winter tires , all used one winter for $600. If you look in spring, there are usually quite a few people selling winter tires/rims that they just took off.
The guy in the video is looking at this totally from the theoretical side, he isn't looking at it from the practical side. His theory is that of course the power companies will sell you more power, but he doesn't address the issue of where all of that extra electricity will come from. It's not...
As any electrician knows, these loads, and electric heating are taken into account when you calculate the service requirements for a home, and for subdivisions. They have been taken into account for decades, whereas electric vehicles were not taken into account when the vast majority of...
Yes the grid can handle one or two electric vehicles per street, but that is a far cry from an electric vehicle in every household, let alone replacing all vehicles with electric vehicles. Several cities in the USA are already suffering from brown outs, and this will only get worse as more...
The problem is, that charging the electric vehicles still requires drawing electricity from the grid, and you are going to use a lot of that electricity driving. The net result is that we will need to generate and transmit a great deal more electricity than we do now.
Do you have any actual experience in electrical generation and transmission? Do you have any idea what the increased demand due to electric vehicles will have on the electrical distribution/transmission system, and on the amount of extra electricity we will need to generate? I spent the last 20+...
I installed my winter tires/rims today, I bought the tires/rims/sensors used, and supposedly the rims and sensors are off of a 2019 Lariat, and they communicate fine with my 2021 Lariat. I drove for 30 minutes, and no alarms, and Fordpass is displaying the proper pressures. The rims look new...
I considered the loss in height for cargo with a cover that fits between the bed rails, with one that fits on the bed rails, and that 1" or so has made a difference a few times, most recentlty when hauling tires that just allowed me to close the cover. If you live in a cold climate ,where...
I wonder what the range will be at -30, we have cold weather here. From what I have seen, the cold weather reduces the range in most electric vehicles by about 50%.
I wouldn't normally be shopping for winter tires/wheels in May, but four like new aluminum rims with sensors, and studded winter tires with very little use for $600, was too good to pass up.
