Although I love my platinum, it has a bit too much shiny stuff for my liking. I'm thinking about what items I can PTM in order to bring down the level of chrome and polished aluminum. I'm also not a fan of the "paint everything possible the same color" movement. The white Platinum recently...
Anything is worth a shot. I'm sure someone bought one off the lot that had tow mirrors that they didn't want, but finding that person will be tough. If only they knew to come here. Since noone has made the swap, there's still unknowns about what other parts or system things you'll need.
I'm still gauging the MPG hit. My wife has commandeered the truck for flower raids at the local nurseries this week and I haven't driven it much. I can't use her miles to help because she's a lead foot.
My dealer spoke with Fuel. They said they had a container on a ship with lots of 20x9 +20 Fuel wheels, many weren't spoken for at the time. I originally ordered the DDT, but saw reports of rubbing with 275/65R20 wheels, so I stuck with the OEM.
I had a Weigh Safe 2.5" on my 2017 F350 and it performed great. I opted for the same in 2" for my current F150. I liked the Weigh Safe more than some other options because it didn't have reversible balls that hang well below the hitch while in use. With WS, it's one or the other. Being all...
The hybrid braking system is a different animal. I'd be interested to try it back to back with 3.5L or 5.0 and see if it feels different. With the hybrid, there's definitely a need to apply more pressure, especially at low speeds.
Moving to any LT tire should provide the stability you're looking for. They come with added weight, but stiffer sidewalls can really make a difference in the feel of towing. This is assuming the trailer is weight properly.
You are probably better off with a high quality vinyl than spray on tint. For one, vinyl is easily removed if you don’t like it or it performs poorly. I ordered a light tint LaminX kit for both the heads and tails. Should have it this week and can provide some feedback.
I've gotten so used to Tow Mirrors with my prior Super Duty trucks that seeing parking lines when in reverse was an afterthought. Now that I have standard mirrors, I really miss not being able to see the lines. The cameras are great, but I'm used to driving with my mirrors and want to see if...
Or how about enlightening the group with some education? I see all sorts of stories about guys that stack blocks on lift kits and then go hard off road and are disappointed. Having 6" of homemade blocks stacked is considerably different. Show me where under normal conditions that a 1" block...
A couple quick pictures of the blocks installed. I'll grab a side shot once the level is on. I'll be running stock wheels and tires with the level for a couple weeks before the Fuel's arrive.
I did the ones that come in the Rough Country kit today. Didn’t run into any issues other than have to remove the arm for the headlights prior to removing the existing u-bolts. I don’t prefer to stack blocks, but it was cheap.
Nitto makes a Terra Grappler G2 in a 295/70R18 that is 34.3" tall and weighs 50.64lbs.
There's also the Grabber APT in a 275/70R18 that is 33.2" tall and weighs 42lbs.
I've been looking into a new wheel and tire setup and have a hunger for 22's. I prefer the look of factory wheels, so my search started with trying to locate Limited wheels. The ones that are available are way overpriced, so now I'm leaning towards the aftermarket. I'm pretty settled on the...
I just looked at pricing and didn't expect the Platinum version to be much more expensive. Looks to be around $100 additional per wheel for that finish. Damn
I've been digging the pictures of Gen14's with Fuel D680's and Fuel Blitz, but most of the pictures are of monotone packages like the STX and Sport. I've got a Platinum in Smoked Quartz that I'm looking to level and add wheels. My sticking point is what color? Gloss Black, Platinum, DDT? I'm...
