And to everyone now planning for a Pro - good luck getting one of the 500 they make.
Seriously eye opening experience from Ford, I seriously doubt I’ll ever buy a Ford vehicle after this cluster.
Rivian R1T here I come (1H 2023 delivery date).

On the Reddit thread, people are talking about Ford taking orders in waves I.e. not all preorders will be able to place an order when the order banks open. Any thoughts on this or guesses how many preorders will be invited to place an order?
If legroom / headroom is your #1 priority the Lighting will definitely fit that best!
For me personally, I’m not in a massive hurry, so not concerned about which I could get first. My calculus is more about the relative value of a vehicle, and it’s hard to beat a $7500 incentive. In fact...
I also reserved a Rivian after hearing the 15k number.
I’d much prefer a 32k (after tax credit) Lightning Pro.
No way I’d ever spend 40k (assuming tax credits gone) on a 230 mile EV. So if to get to 300 miles you have to spend 60k (for an XLT) I’d rather have a Rivian for $63k (after tax credit).
I don’t believe the 10% Pro number for a minute. No way, no how. EVERY headline was “40k Lightning”. A HUGE percentage of the reservations had to be people wanting a 40k Lightning.
If Ford doesn’t make the Pro available to retail at launch, they are going to have a huge number of pissed off customers who feel like they have been baited and switched.
