I live in Southern California but I have to park my Lightning outside of the garage. FYI, the cable for the Ford Charge Station Pro is approximately 20 feet long and so I can easily run it under my garage door to my truck.
I think that like with most reviews, there is a greater propensity for people that have had a negative experience or are dealing with a temporary problem to voice their concerns/opinions on the Forum. Another point would be that an early adopter needs a level of patience and expectations that I...
I can vouch for Texas Dan's comment, at least for Southern California. More than once I have come upon an EA charging location with one or more Bolts sitting there and charging from 90% up to 100% at a very slow rate. It's not that they are slower per say, it is that they don't/won't stop...
Sorry that you had a stressfull experience and from the responses so far, an answer to your issues. As someone who has done the OC to NoCal trip in the Lightning a few times I would recommend bypassing Kettleman City and stopping at Harris Ranch 27 miles up the road. Many Tesla and EA chargers...
FYI, when I was up there in April the second one was not even yet on the Tesla App. I tried the old one by Tavern and was unsuccessful at several stations. So I went down to the new one and tried those but they didn't work either. They did have a couple of slower J1772 plugs there that were free...
So, which one on Old Mammoth Road did you end up at that was working? The "older" one that is a couple of blocks off of Main Street (203) or the new Tesla chargers further down on the right next to the skating rink?
I, too was in Mammoth in April and had the same issues at all of the Tesla chargers that I tried, both at the old location and the new one at the ice rink. I was also successful in Lone Pine. Hopefully they update those chargers as a high speed CCS/NACS option in Mammoth is sorely needed!
I am the first poster on this thread. Mine were replaced a year and a half ago and have been fine since. This is a known defect going way back and yours should be replaced with no argument.
I will be going into the dealer for some recall issues if and when they ever receive the parts and I plan to bring up this issue to them when I do so. My hope is that they will have a lightning or two on the lot that does not reproduce this same event. I will report back to this thread when I do.
If the truck is unlocked and I repeat the procedure it closes properly. It only happens when the truck is locked. So, it cannot be an obstruction or it would not close properly whether locked or unlocked.
If the truck is locked and I attempt to close the tailgate by either pressing the tailgate button or the key fob the tailgate raises to the closing point, the horn honks (loudly) and the tailgate goes back down. My friend has the same truck with no such issue so I believe that it is not the...
