I talked with Griff after Sherwood Ford wanted 20k mark up. He was shocked and said would never add markup to anything. I won’t be getting a Lightning but wouldn’t hesitate to go there for any future Ford products.
My sales guy just text to tell me that the store, Sherwood Ford has decided to sell the lightning at MSRP. Too late. Bridges have been burned.
I told him I saw the email Ford sent out and that I’m still not interested. No response.
Background info…. They originally asked for 20k dealer...
A bit of oversight on Fords part to not have a lightning tour in Canada and also not to release pricing before having us commit to ordering. Never mind the 20k markup Sherwood Park tacked on.
Sherwood park dealer called me last week and they are charging 20k dealer mark up. I Called Fort Sask and they are msrp.
Sherwood getting 9 allocations and I was #1 on the reservation list but I obviously passed on that. I’m not getting a truck this year but I left my name on the list for next...
Just phoned another dealer about 15 minutes up the road from dealer who is charging 20k markup. New dealer says nothing over msrp and was not agreed upon regionally like original dealer told me. Greasy!!! What a brutal process. Mother in law has a Maverick on order at markup dealer. Gonna...
Just got a call from my dealer. They are a very big dealer in Alberta and are getting 9 allocations. I was #1 on their reservation list but they are charging 20K mark up over MSRP. I told them I was not interested but stayed on the list for next year. Pretty sure I’ll be getting a different...
My reservation info on ford.ca account doesn’t show a time stamp. Just a reservation number and date. I reserved on launch night when site went live.
Have to assume that means I for sure am getting a chance to order !! Haha or maybe no chance at all….. could go either way.
What are these emails you guys are getting? I reserved the minute the site went live( in Canada) and have a Ford account but I haven’t gotten anything. We also have no scheduled lightning tours up here so I have no idea what’s going on and the dealers seem to know less.
Yes pricing, Liberal government just got voted in yesterday up here in Canada and they are proposing a 10% luxury tax on vehicles over $100k in Jan 2022. You would think electric would be exempt but I don’t know all the ins and outs just yet , but 10% on top would be too much for me to go...
What are all these pre production models for? More testing , more to send out for reservation holders events?
After testing miles and test rides they can’t really sell them as new so they must disassemble and “recycle” it to a new truck?
Send me a black platinum up here to Canada this winter...
This podcast got me even more excited about the lightning and also Ford’s commitment to their EV program. I was also relieved to hear that rumored build numbers aren’t real and they are cranking plant up to full potential.
