The Star Wars reference is REALLY appreciated but I have to start out by saying I am no expert and learning myself.
What you speak of bugged me too, and my plan was to disconnect the 12V wire coming from the 7-pin connector.
Then I received some great feedback over at diysolarforum.com that...
Hey @ThunderCore ,
How are you figuring out the part numbers for these wiring assemblies?
If I understand correctly the part number @GChurch gave up thread was for a dual exhaust, which most of us don't have. How can we determine the correct wiring assemblies for our trucks?
Thanks,
-Eric
You seem to be heading I the right direction.
Based on the small amount of experience I gained adding lithium batteries to our RV, here are some thoughts that might help as you determine the correct wire gauge:
Looking at the specs I didn't see the actual amperage draw, just that it had a...
Here in Boise one of the local car stereo shops also sells and installs rear-view cameras for travel trailers. Maybe a similar shop local to you would do the install for you.

The Pro Power on Board 7.2kW option ($750) on the Powerboost is a real game changer when you are out with a travel trailer! You have 30 Amp RV Park type power wherever you go!
You can get a very respectable payload with a reasonably well optioned Powerboost.
Off the top of my head, here...
OK, now I am confused. Upthread you said the cable we needed is: ml3z-13a576-tfa.
Are you now saying we need to order a different cable, and you don't know the part number?
Thanks,
-Eric
Also @GChurch ,
Are the TPMS sensors the type that screw onto the existing valve stems, or are they the kind that replace the existing valve stems and need to be installed at a tire shop?
Thanks!
-Eric
That looks fantastic, @GChurch !
Are you using the yaw sensor or sticker for the Pro Backup option?
For those of us with earlier trucks and the yaw sensor, do you know how it connects in with the TPMS & camera kit you are using?
Thanks!
-Eric
Try pushing the center of the Pro Trailer knob. IIRC, this started the setup process on my truck. Of course without a sensor/sticker you won't complete the setup, but it would be interesting to see if it does anything.
@PowerBoostXLT
We used that same adapter as well - until I finished this install. It works great!
Some of the newer/higher-end RV refrigerators will run on 12 Volts, in addition to the typical 120 Volts & propane. Unfortunately, our is not one of those. ?
