  1. Android Auto random disconnects and reconnects

We drive 4 hours round trip to go skiing every weekend. CarPlay drops at the same golf course both coming and going. Rock solid everywhere else.
  2. Onboard Scales, does yours read 0 when truck is as built off the line (no driver, no additional weight)?

Beware of the automatic taring in Scale Mode. If it is taking you a while to load the truck and it shuts off; when you start the truck back up, the Scale Mode goes back to zero. I actually prefer the standard vehicle mode because of this.
  3. Onboard Scales, does yours read 0 when truck is as built off the line (no driver, no additional weight)?

My fully loaded Platinum is just under the middle bar. The top number is 1356. When the truck was really new, I had a bunch of stuff and the truck weighed on the state scales for registration at 7,200 lbs. (In my country registration is less for a heavy truck.) The bar was just under the red...
  4. Door leather protection from dagger-nailed toddler?

Move the car seat to the center. That is the safest place to be. Just wait a couple years until he wants to borrow your KR for homecoming or prom…
  5. Rack recommendation for use with BAK MX4?

How long is your bed? The shorter beds only have stake pockets in the back. I'm terrified of having my bikes higher than the roof. I'm an avid cyclist who cares a lot more about the bikes than my new truck. I know I would drive the bikes right into a parking garage ceiling. I got the truck as a...
  6. Spray in Bed Liner or Bed Mat enough coverage?

I’m starting with the mat and will get a spray liner if the bed gets badly scratched. The spray liner should cover up all the scratches.
  7. Sync 4 CarPlay

I drove the truck home 11 hours from Montana. I had to reboot the phone once and another time it overheated on the wireless charger. Around town it is perfect
  8. Use the 240V outlet for standard household plug in's?

Hopefully it has a built in circuit breaker so it is not a fire hazard. To get the full 7.2 KW you will need to balance your loads on each side. What appliances are you trying to run? You would be surprised how much stuff you can turn on with 2000 watts. (Excluding driers, washing machines...
  9. Tailgate pad for bikes

I’m nervous to try. I have heard horror stories of gates not fully latching and losing the bike on the highway. The 1 up is such a good rack.
  10. How to Figure Cost to Charge VS. Gas Mileage

At $.10 per kw in my region, I figure it is about the equivalent of $.75 per gallon of gas. Seattle has very cheap electricity and very expensive gas. Paying to charge (not at home) on the go is usually as bad as gas or worse.
  11. Whole house energy monitor suggestions

https://learn.openenergymonitor.org/electricity-monitoring/ct-sensors/interface-with-arduino?redirected=true Using the above link, the Arduino measure the current and prints to a serial port (usb). The pi reads the serial port(usb). The pi can dump the readings to a text file, serve a website...
  12. Whole house energy monitor suggestions

You can build your own with a Rasperry Pi and Arduino pretty cheap < $100 and have infinite flexibility.
