Yes, would like to see if this is a Ford issue or a Global issue...
Lithium price should be going down in 2024 https://www.fool.com.au/2022/05/05/what-will-the-lithium-price-be-in-2025/ -- this include mining China...probably is costly to spin up US/US Partners lithium mining/refining...
I'll guess we'll have to see how other EV manufacturers will adjust their pricing...
For those that will most likely not qualify for the updated tax credit/rebate (Hyundai, BMW, Vovlo, Tesla, etc) - would be intersting to see if their price jumps match the lightnings from 2022 to 2023....
I can understand price increases due inflation - 10% up across the board for everything....fine...
This however, looks like a business taking advantage of the refreshed $7.5K tax credit/rebate and leaving nothing for the consumer - the trucks are coincidentally marked up $7-8K more expensive...
After a few drives - please let us know how the seat covers feel on longer drives - I'm sure you'll get less heat/sweat back there compared to direct contact to the vinyl - but is it much better? Also which brand are the seat covers?
Thanks!
Wow...yeah..and looks to be the same orange extension cord that the guy was plugging into the truck....hopefully it is not indicative of the usability of the Onboard Pro Power ;-)
"I need to run my tile saw right outside my finished garage...lets plug it into the truck instead of one of the multiple outlets in my garage"....probably followed by "I'll use my leatherman to eat my steak" while eating in the kitchen...
I was thinking the easiest way to do this without home integration (that may make things complicated) with the assumption your house does not need more than 7.2kw at 220v and 2.4kw at 120v:
- Get the Pro Power Onboard upgrade so you have 7.2kw 220v and 2.4kw 120v
- Set the truck or your EVSE to...
Yes, that is a different way of asking the question :)
Hypothetical:
- A house that normally uses less than 9.6kw can surge higher than that in the event the Central AC and Well Pump were to come on at the same time --May be better to have two transfer switches/circuits - one for the HIS...
Weathertech has liners for the Lightning with vinyl floors: https://www.weathertech.com/ford/2022/f-150-lightning/floorliner-digitalfit/f-150-floor-type/vinyl-floor/f-150-fold-flat-storage/no/
Can you feed the house with the HIS at 10kw and run 7.2kw from the 220v outlet on the Pro Power Onboard at the same time?
or in other words (Thanks Amp):
Can I take ≤19.2 kW from the high voltage battery simultaneously using Pro Power Onboard and Home Backup Power?
...and if one lived in Illinois that Bolt EV would be $16K:
https://www2.illinois.gov/epa/topics/ceja/Pages/default.aspx
For folks that are able to charge at home, this should be a no brainer compared to a Kia Rio, Hyundai Accent, etc....
Wow that is neat and affordable!
Do you know if it is compatible with all EVs that have DC fast charging plugs even those that don't advertise being able to do backfeed/V2G/V2H?
Thanks for the replies!
I recall there was a product out there (quick 220?) that could connect two 120v 20 amp circuits to make a single 220v 20 amp circuit for temporary use...
However, I don't think there is a nice way to combine the output of the 2x120v 20amp circuits into the 220v 30amp...
Greetings All,
If going with the assumption that the Home Integration system uses the same DC-AC inverter as the Pro Power setup - It should be able to provide 9.6kw to the 220V outlet in the truck bed?
If this is the case, would their be a breaker/fuse limiting the outlet to 30amps/7.2kw...
From the video
From the video, they stated they lost approximately 10% range by switching to all terrain tires, then by adding the camper (and maxing the payload to 1600 lbs ) were brought down to 200 miles range....so that camper (not sure if before or after they added that roof fairing) and...
Wow that is interesting:
"...
These subtle tweaks include a hood that's slightly shorter, and the bedsides are tucked in tight so that air can slide right across them and on behind the vehicle.
..."
Out of curiosity - anyone care the measure the hood length of the Lightning vs the ICE F150?
It is a nice thought, but It would seem unlikely - The Pro Power on Board has always been stated to be a means to power devices - not to receive power...General flow would be Battery System--> DC to AC inverter --> outputs to pro power 240v 30amp & 120v 20amp circuits around the truck...
For...
Greetings All,
For those that have received their Lightning Pro - Could I ask if you can take a look under your drivers seat (and maybe front passenger seat as well) and take a picture of the wire harness jack/outlet that connects to the seat?
It may look identical the XL (Example...
