I would be interested in an EREV under two conditions.
1 - Not completely losing the frunk
2 - Must still be able to plug in to charge
If it has both of those, then my day-to-day BEV lifestyle continues, AND I am covered for longer roadtrips to areas that, sadly entering 2026 still do not have...
I appreciate the candor and the information. Thanks for coming here as the news breaks to share the details.
I am not sure how I feel about this yet. I really love not having to do oil changes or gas station stops. I love the frunk. I think the truck looks great. However, the range is not...
I charge to 90% for daily driving, but I don't plug in every day. During warmer weather I would charge to 90, and plug back in in the 50's. Now that its cold, and I want to use departure times, I am plugging in nightly to 90%.
100% for a known long trip.
I had a 12v battery fail in August and the dealer tried to blame it on my Dongar. Obviously that isn't the case, since the mirror tap is NOT powered when the ignition is off. Just sharing in case anyone else gets pushback on these.
So you have given me a new worry. I just paid to have it replaced as the new recall was coming out - not worried about getting reimbursed, but am worried that the repair was done to the "old" standard, and that the new one may have the same micro-cracks as the old. I would not want to bring it...
From that attachment, not filling me with good vibes that no one proofread this:
"Regarding the specific reimbursement plan for Recall # 25SB6, owners who have paid for service to remedy the defect or noncompliance must have had that service performed before November 31, 2025."
Coming back to update.
I pulled codes over the weekend myself, and it said "Communication lost with IPMA" and another about camera calibration. Doing some thread searching, I saw a procedure to do it with Forscan, but decided not to mess with it.
I took the truck back to the dealer on...
Well, I went ahead and pulled the trigger to get my lightbar replaced. The repair now requires replacing the rear camera as well. My part of the repair was $400 - and I will submit for reimbursement when the new recall is available in Q1.
But, here is the crazy thing. I go to pick up the...
So, my lights are completely failed, including the reverse lights. The dealer got Ford to cover some percentage of the replacement, including the rear camera - and my piece comes out to $400.
I need it done, because I am going to back into someone without reverse lights. Do we think Ford will...
I see. I have only ever had one replacement done under 23S30. So it will be interesting to see if I am getting the same part as you did in April. I cant remember if you said your latest one is bad too?
I am also going to ask the old part be shown to me so I can take a lot of detailed...
So, it gets more interesting.
I was trying to get the truck in tomorrow to get it replaced, and the dealer said to hold up, because apparently the part number has been superseded, and now requires replacing the camera as well. He is getting back with Ford on next steps. I have also asked for...
An update - my dealer was able to get Ford to approve covering most of the cost, somehow. My portion is $247. It will be warrantied for 2 years/unlimited miles against workmanship/and or defects. That part worries me because no one has admitted the current unit is failing due to a defect...
Well, my reverse light is now failed as well. Ford still refuses to cover this under the warranty I paid extra for, even though it was covered by the recall. The battery electric team was "unable to find an active program that could assist with the repair cost".
Oh, I see. Yea, I don't know - I am guessing you may be right regarding zone lighting. Its pretty bright!
I also did some more reading about the original recall, and it wasn't because moisture was getting into the red part. It was specifically because water got into the reverse lighting...
I think it was to be differentiate from the regular F150 a little, like the front light bar. Looks fancy (when working)
Too bad its real use is to show off how much water you can carry around!
