Well, my reverse light is now failed as well. Ford still refuses to cover this under the warranty I paid extra for, even though it was covered by the recall. The battery electric team was "unable to find an active program that could assist with the repair cost".
Oh, I see. Yea, I don't know - I am guessing you may be right regarding zone lighting. Its pretty bright!
I also did some more reading about the original recall, and it wasn't because moisture was getting into the red part. It was specifically because water got into the reverse lighting...
I think it was to be differentiate from the regular F150 a little, like the front light bar. Looks fancy (when working)
Too bad its real use is to show off how much water you can carry around!
The flanking lights already have reverse lights in them don't they? With the tailgate up, they are covered by a bit of metal on the tailgate that is not on ICE F-150s, but with it down they are visible. I think they have to be, because there would be no indicator the vehicle is in reverse with...
I filed a complaint with NHTSA in April when my request to replace the lamp (still working, but with moisture inside) was denied because this is "normal". Last night, I started thinking, hey, this feels like fraud to sell me a warranty that covers LED lights and then not cover said LED lights...
Hey all, just wanted to tag on to this thread as I am facing the same issue. I reported water in the tailgate light bar to my dealer earlier this year, right after I left the 3/36 coverage (I too have PremiumCARE with Lighting coverage) and was told back then that some level of water intrusion...
I hear you, and you are right - plenty of people not on here complaining, I get that. But it does make me wonder what the software methodology is at Ford. I wonder if they have an employee Beta program so they can get rapid feedback on new builds.
Hahah, exact same thing happened to me. Only after replacing the fuse with a spare did I discover the 12V battery was completely dead.
Seems bad if everyone is pulling fuses and disconnecting batteries on a brand new truck, but maybe that's just me.
So an update, I replaced the fuse (thanks Taxman for the tip on spares) and nothing changed.
Then I realized I couldn't even lock/unlock the doors with the remote. In fact, there was no juice at all.
Had roadside dispatched and the driver put a jump start box on the points in the frunk and...
Hope Ford is watching these threads! We have had our truck for a week and while overall I love it, I wish you could set quick access "Favorites" that are accessible at all times on the screen. One touch to get to camera access, or drive mode select, etc - instead of multiple taps and swipes...
They should have been doing this for Bronco orders already. Way too many gently used Broncos on dealer lots around here for six figures. Also they smacked down markups on Mach-E in 2020. Can't imagine why you would allow dealers to basically hold hostage a vehicle you WANT out there in the...
