I have an XLT and need to put a truck camper to the bed. Due to not having enough clearance, I need to remove the high mount brake housing. Since I have the brake in the camper already, I don't really need it. Another good thing to remove the light is there will be no brake light reflected back...
Thanks spizike9! More questions:
1. Forgot to ask what is the offset of the wheel? I am using the stock wheel.
2. Do you think it still have room for tire chain?
3. You said the mpg is off 1-2. Is it calculated or read directly from the console? If your speedometer is not calibrated, your mpg...
How do you like the 285/70R18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers? I assumed you have no level/lift. Any rub with the tires? Is it noisier than the stock? Does it affect the mpg? I am thinking of doing the same. It will be great if you can post a full side view picture. Thanks in advance!
I thought it is about 33.1 inches only. Are you talking about 20"? Can you confirm? I have no favorite tires so far. Any good tire with the right size will do. Any recommendation?
If not, I am thinking of Goodyear Duratrac. The only worry is the road noise. Hard to decide with the mixed reviews.
Thanks for your comment. I agreed with you. I changed my mind to either 285/65R18 or 295/65R18. 285 is only slightly changed from the stock tire. Not sure it worth the effort and money. Do you think 295/65R18 will fit without a level? Hope to see if someone did the same changes.
Great. I am narrowing it down to 285/70R18 (33.7" diameter) or 295/65R18 (33.1" diameter). Which one you will pick and why? Both with stock suspension and no offset.
Thanks 2dogcamper for the link. I am narrowing it down to 285/70R18 and 295/70R18.
Anyone knows if I will have any issue with 295 with no level/lift? Any opinions are welcomed.
Did you do any lift/level? How is the ride compare to the stock? Is the mpg affected?
I have the same wheels and thinking of doing the same. But, don't want to do any suspension changes.
I don't know much about the tire. I want to get more aggressive tires. What size of tire it can fit without any lift?
Or can I just put 2020 F150 Raptor tire and rim on it? I can get a pretty new set at low cost.
Please advise.
