And now there's an update to the original TSB 23-2316 out this morning....TSB 25-2446.
If the conditions are met on your '22 or '23 Lightning, the fix is an update to the powertrain modules.
So if we took all the camo off....and given the new shade of blue, and the style of the wheels on this truck,....couldn't this actually be the just announced 2026 Lightning STX we're looking at in these spy shots?
I get what they're trying to do...model diversification to "keep things fresh"...but honestly, and I'm a big Ford fan....there is nothing in this announcement that is exciting to me except the new color. All of the things they announced were things that don't involve any real development cost...
Love the color. Don't love the stickers. Love the fact that it comes without a mandatory moonroof. Different wheels and running boards are just parts bin swaps. I would have been impressed if the range had gone up to at least 350 miles on a full charge.
I will stick with my '22 Lariat.
Sunday again...7 Sep...
So FDRS is showing a HCM update as well as GVMIS data warnings for the USB-updateable modules this morning (GWM, APIM, TCU, IPC). No idea what that's about, but it will likely go away by itself. (I checked a 23 and 24 model and they also have the same GVMIS data warnings...
Now if they could just come out with a 'Long Ranger' edition of the Lariat with closer to a 400 mile range they'd sell a shed load more of the Lightnings. Or maybe Ford performance can sell us a 'Long Ranger' battery pack.....or something.
TSB is the procedure they follow to address a specific concern. In warranty or out of warranty, regardless.
But yes, if out of warranty, you would pay for the software update.
That was 22 model according to the seller's website listing when I looked.
If I were in the market for a second one, I'd get another 22 model. I have the impression that spring of 22 builds (Mar-Jun) had less issues than the later trucks.
I’m surprised the weights work. They didn’t when I tried it two years ago. And others had also reported similar experiences. But if it works for you 👍🏻
Ankle weights and wrist weights don't work on Ford vehicles. I'm not even sure they work on Teslas anymore, but I don't really follow what the Tesla crowd are up to these days.
Ford's system literally requires you to 'oppose' the steering efforts that lane keeping makes, roughly every 10...
It looks like either Velocity Blue or maybe Lightning Blue, which is what I hoped one of the 2022 colors was going to be. I settled for what I could get, Atlas Blue.
I never noticed that additional bit about it only reading the GWM, APIM, and TCU modules until I went back in and put my mouse over the tooltip. I thought it was reading everything. Ahh well....
I did that. His online asbuilt (for the SCCM specifically) matches my truck's with the exception of the 70 vs. 2D on the first register, and the fact that he doesn't have a heated steering wheel. I have working GF lighting.
