I've had a similar DCFC experience this summer. EA in the shade in charlotte wasn't too bad, but road trips to FL were brutal. Can't navigate to a charger because the Ford Nav is useless now, so no preconditioning, even with Apple maps. One charge heats the battery up, it never comes back...
Got mine last week, traveling down to PCB and used Tesla exclusively to avoid the ChargePoint 62.5s that are the only option on my route.
if someone can point me to the right thread to discuss, but im not impressed with the curve, or the battery cooling. first charge was ok, second one was...
I got mine last week in time for my trip down to Florida. Charged exclusively Tesla because there werent any other similar speed options, only the cahrgepoint cpe250s that give you 62.5kw.
Funny, I installed mine yesterday.
pretty straight forward, took under 4 hours. I ignored the instructions and did not have an expert install them.
I noticed just a couple things:
- instructions aren’t as clear on which bolt is to ground the sensor, and that the rear sensor is on the forward...
Just got them today, weren’t too bad up to 55 mph. Definitely noticeable though, like a low rumble, more than the stock.
Right at 15k. They weren’t too bad of shape, I got an unrepairable screw in the front passenger, and no one had the 116T general, just the 115S. Costco told my wife they...
I looked all over trying to find photos of stock wheels and more aggressive tires.
just in case anyone’s looking for the same. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Stock 20, 275/60/R20 116T Nitto Ridge Grapplers
I got the update, setup Paak with no issue, but now, my nav is in metric.
Settings are in standard/imperial, but the nav only is in metric. Kind of hilarious.
I've noticed it is a little more conservative in my experience.
I've experienced 1.8-2.0mi/kwh at 75ish, so I upped the @65mph to more like 2.4-2.5.
5800 miles on the truck since June. 3 road trips across GA, SC.
Honestly, the on board nav has done pretty well too. Always good to double...
I have the FCSP, but it isn't installed. It has a CCS1 connector so it cannot charge the Y, I don't have a Tesla CCS1 adapter.
No Tesla Chargers, we have a Juicebox 40 installed now (we always planned on a Rivian of one flavor). That is fine for the truck for now. I use a 20amp, 240v 6-20r...
I have a Y and the Lightning. After almost 4000 miles, they're just... different. I much prefer the ride and space of the Lightning, ventilated seats are something I missed from my 2015 F150. The FordPass app and the truck's connectivity to that are sometimes terrible, which should be...
My nav stopped working, screen wouldn’t load, then next drive started again. Weirdest thing is that if I use Waze on CarPlay, the truck nav stops and Vice versa. Makes no sense to me.
I got an address confirmation, then a shipping notification, which was of course for a signature required delivery while I was on vacation. 6/22 delivery, 7/8 CSP showed up.
No update to the Blue Oval balance yet though.
I made much the same trip, ATL to Fripp Island, just north. 2.0-2.1 mi/kWh at 70-75. Truck said could get all the way to savannah/pooler EA charger, but buffer started going down quickly to under 20 miles, so stopped at Mettler ChargePoint/GA Power for bathroom break and a get there charge...
This is my frustration after 2 days. I just want to easily set a PERMANENT charge level, like my model y, that I can adjust to 100 for trips.
having it fully adjustable in the app is important too
