I received the parts and have to admit I only installed the trim piece. The cover works just fine otherwise and I donāt baby it, so it hasnāt been an issue.
Overall Iām pretty happy with the roll up cover. The box in the back of the bed has been annoying on a few occasions and I had a 2x4 smack...
Same thing for mine. Just started 2 weeks ago, now it does it every trip. Randomly goes black. Sometimes it comes back, sometimes it doesnāt. Restarting the vehicle always gets it running again.
I was excited to sign up for Bluecruise, also having a Tesla with FSD; but seeing that map is concerning. As a resident of WA state, it basically looks like Iād be paying 200/year to get Bluecruise on I5 and a bit of a road out to the penisula. I was hoping a lot more of the local highways...
Posting another update. I emailed Gator to get a replacement bracket for the one that was broken and learned somethingā¦ hilarious.
After 2 days, Gator emails me back. āContact Retrax.com for replacement partsā. I had a feeling these were just re-branded Retrax covers, but this confirms it...
I guess I should post an update. I ended up finding a Gator Recoil on Amazon warehouse that fit my truck for a bit under $600. It seemed to check all the boxes (not a heavy brick, doesnāt block the back window, doesnāt make me carry around another key) so I bought it.
Put it on last night and...
7200 lbs trailer + family of 5 means you need every bit of payload possible. Option the truck to maximize that. I think that means a 157 WB 3.5EB with few options.
Ok, looking at options for tonneau covers for my truck. I live in Seattle, so both weather protection as well as some level of security is necessary. Ontop of that, something that I donāt see mentioned very often that Iām thinking about is weight. Not looking to be a āultra light weight...
Thinking about this a bit more, I wonder how much wheelbase affects the dynamics. I bet the difference between a 145 and 157 inch wheelbase is a big difference between whatās comfortable and whatās not.
Yeah, Iām not a flat lander. Iām located in Seattle so pretty much every camping trip involves going over a cascades mountain pass.
Weāve tow our current RV ~8k miles / year, all around Canda, WA, OR, CA, etc.
For many years the rule of thumb was to keep the loaded weight (GVWR) of an RV below 6k lbs for a 1/2 ton truck. I think I see this from people with 12th gen F-150ās all the way up to current. iām reading and watching videos from people recommending that trailers beyond 6k GVWR get a 3/4 ton...
Mustanga10, Are you towing in flat areas?
Iāve found my Tacoma gets great reviews from people in flat areas, but where I Iāve (Seattle), itās a disaster. Just canāt tow my 3k trailer, even tho well rated.
Iām also looking at a 8k GVWR trailer and starting to wonder if my 3/15...
I hope Ford doesnāt underestimate the value of Teslaās charging network. It might not affect them much for first time buyers of their EVās, but I think frustration will build quick and Ford might see a sharp decline in repeat buyers. Charging a Tesla on the road is incredibly easy. It...
I'll be the enthusiastic one here. I think it looks GREAT. I think the frunk is amazing. Looks like it'll have some type of ProPower, but through the trunk.
We already own a Tesla with 300 mi range and we use the full battery once every couple months. I'm pretty sure we could live with a...
Good catch. The body line of the truck bed is different and the taillight is 100% different. I wonder if the Lightening is getting a completely different box in the back.
