Well this is a little odd. I asked chat for an updated status (since it shows Shipped with no estimated delivery) and they gave me rail information (window sticker says Convoy btw)



I found the number to call and how to enter the railcar number, but it says it is empty and released by customer in Portland, Oregon on 9/7/22 (at 7:50 AM). So did chat give me the wrong number, or how does my Lightning get from MI to TX via OR?
Railcars get passed around from railroad to railroad. Whoever you called last had the railcar on 09/07/2022. Try calling UP is you haven't already since they will be the railroad ultimately delivering your truck to Houston.

Railcars get passed around from railroad to railroad. Whoever you called last had the railcar on 09/07/2022. Try calling UP is you haven't already since they will be the railroad ultimately delivering your truck to Houston.
UP was closer at least. Hard to make out what everything meant on the automated system but that call provided: loaded at "industry", November 6th, gateway Illinois, October 31st.

I'll admit UPS tracking and next day Prime shipping has ruined my expectations for how to track anything I order. Why can't I get a live GPS view like I do with a bag of dog food or 2 hour delivery window on a new phone case, haha.

UP's trace system is more or less useless for determining where your railcar is. Eventually at the end of the message you'll get an ETA date. The night before that date or on the date itself, the phrase you'll want to listen for is "Actual Placement". That means the railcar has been disconnected from the train and is in railyard waiting to be hooked up to the ramp to drive the vehicles off.

If they'd just let us remote-activate the truck's infotainment system through the Ford app I think we'd be able to tell where it was. That would be nice.

Well CS now says that my truck is on a Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Railway Co car, but it still says Blue Island, IL. Will it say Blue Island until it reaches its destination at this point, or will there be stops visible along the way?

I checked the status of my 2023 Lariat ER. Production week of 10/24, Blend date of 10/28, still "In Production" due to a "Chip Hold."

Last night my delivery date on the Ford site changed from 11/17-11/22 to 11/23-11/29. My truck arrived at the rail yard 90 miles away last Sunday. There’s another forum member with a truck on the same train but at different local dealer and his dealer said he expects delivery to the dealership by tomorrow. I guess I need to try to chat with Ford to see if there is an issue with mine.

Ford chat was as useless as usual. They want me to stay in touch with my dealer. It takes about 2 weeks to get a response to an email, if you get one at all. The part that bothers me is that the window moved before the original delivery window ran out. There must have been some trigger for it but I have no idea what it could be.

I’d be surprised it they didn’t have a full truckload to pick up. My dealer has 4 locations and they are all in the same direction from the ramp. I kind of wish Amazon would get into the car hauling business.

I feel you. My truck is hanging out in San Antonio with a delivery window of the 15th - 21st. I'm fortunate that the delivery window has not been pushed back (yet) but I leave to go out of town on the 22nd and the anticipation is killing me. Having to rely on Ford, 2+ railroads, the transport truck company, and your dealer all executing perfecting is a recipe for delays and slip ups. I believe Tesla, for all their faults, has some amount of vertical integration that speeds this process up significantly.
