So I have tracked my Lariat off the train and now sitting in a parking lot in Atlanta, about 80 miles away and has been there since Saturday morning. Anyone have any insight on how long this could take to find a truck ride to North Ga? My FordPass is active so I can see the exact location, and this is nice and torturous at the same time.
Hours, Days .... Weeks, at least you can geolocate it.

My May 9th order is still in build status… supposed to be shipped October 27th - November 2nd…..

However, I email several dealers around town and ended up buying a Lariat SR at a 6% discount, before the $7500 incentive from Ford. That is a 72k truck, discounted $5,000 (Dealer), $7,500 (Ford Incentive), $7,500 (Fed Government tax rebate), ending up costing about $57,000.

My advice to anyone still in the build stage is to shop around, especially if you have several dealers in your area. EV are sadly not selling and there are opportunities out there.

Best of luck to everyone on a great deal or speedy delivery!
This is the way

2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat ER
Today's update: stopped by our dealership this afternoon, said "so, where's our truck?" since I had (as predicted) not gotten a phone call. Sales guy did some explaining on the intake process and timeline, etc., etc., and my wife flat out asked "ok, so what's our timeline?". The answer: tomorrow. They taking extra time to get the CSP sorted (which I wasn't worried about, but that's fine), and do all their other check-outs (including the PDI); it's being detailed tomorrow with "kid gloves" (my word, not his...but he's making sure extra care is being taken). So, in theory, if everything goes to plan we should have it around noon-ish tomorrow. Happy Halloween to us. :)

Slingshot incoming!
Ford F-150 Lightning ✅ 9/11/2023 Lightning Build Week Group (MY2023) 1698742143603

Indeed, the "slingshot" has launched, Ford came out with an estimate Sunday night of 11/09/2023 - 11/22/2023 and checking again today they came with a new estimate of 11/03/2023 - 11/16/2023. The 11/09 seems overly optimistic, only 12 days from Saturday, and the second estimate seems even more optimistic. I'm going to stick with my sales person's estimate of the 13th - 19th as the earliest I'll expect. So exciting how close it is though!

My delivery estimate was 10/25/2023 - 10/31/2023, so I visited my dealership to gather more data.
I am in PA (South East). Truck was delivered by rail to Willmington, DE last week and has been sitting since then till today. I am entitled to $7500 OR 3.9% based on salesperson's explanation (easy choice), but no discount from the dealership. While I can get $1000 cheaper truck at other dealership, I would have to wait till December-January, and it will have different options set/color. So I am sticking to my order for now. I hope this information will be helpful, considering there is not enough information about PA deliveries/market.

Still stuck with "In Production". My dealership just got a truck in this week with a 4-digit order number just 5 lower than mine. Any chance this means mine is closer, or is it truly luck of the draw?

4 digit order codes mean nothing as far as production goes, they are just a validation code randomly assigned or custom selected by the dealers when the truck is first built on WBDO.

I've got good news and bad news:

Good news is that the truck finally went to "Built" last night (9/21 production day - Lariat ER)

Bad news that I may get roasted for is that I completely chickened out at the last minute and went and bought a Tundra Platinum HV and cancelled my order.

I was certain I convinced myself that I'd be fine with towing our travel trailer with an EV. It would potentially slow down the travel time with charging stops and require me to book campsites 9 months in advance to make sure we got the sites with hookups, but I felt okay that I'd be able to adapt.

...until I really started to think about it. Primary issue is that we specifically configured our travel trailer to not require hookup sites to make sure we'd always have the best chances of at least finding SOMETHING to reserve without having to book it almost a year out. Going completely against that philosophy just for a vehicle started to weigh on me. As did the annoyance of actually booking campsites for July 2024 in October 2023 and similar.

Other reasons were the perceived resale values starting to eat away at me. I thought I could convince myself to not worry about it, but ultimately I couldn't get over my self-brainwashing of making sure I don't totally lose my ass on vehicle purchases if life ever goes sideways.

Also started getting concerns about the growing stories of campgrounds/RV parks starting to enforce anti-EV charging policies. Planning to rely on that only to end up finding out that I'd potentially have to add another task to our weekend camping trips upon showing up to campsites started to worry me.

Of course range and NACS and blah blah blah minor stuff doesn't help, but ultimately that stuff won't be a real concern when the infrastructure has evolved to something more reliable.

My next truck will most certainly be a full EV, but I really just need the infrastructure to be slightly more solidified for my use case and feelings on time usage for towing trips.

We do about two weekend trips a month during the peak camping season and one weekend a month/every other month during the off-season. There's only so much time between Friday afternoon and Sunday afternoon, and unfortunately I decided I'd rather spend that time camping than worrying about charging situation.

We still have the Polestar 2 and I'm never giving up having at least one EV in the household as they're just so much better to drive than ICE. But I will say the Tundra is super nice...

Well, I got my “Complete Purchase” email this afternoon. Started talking with the dealership, and the truck will be onsite tomorrow. Unfortunately, the numbers are just not making sense to me. I have a 1.5 year old Kia EV6, and they are not willing to give me anything for it. I am just too upside down on my loan. Just a month-and-a-half earlier, Kelly Blue Book showed my trade-in value to be only slightly less than my payoff. I guess I’ll let the dealership sit on the truck for a while and see if they change their tune any. The online purchasing sites are not offering any better. Used car market and interest rates are making car buying so unfavorable. I’m afraid it is an indication of a dire economy picture ahead.

I’ve never been able to get Kelly Blue Book trade-in values, even when shopping around to sell my vehicle to other local dealers or the online ones, carvana, etc.

Yeah, I was just hoping to be in the ballpark. $12K difference in just over a month was a bit of a shock. Oh well, if it’s meant to be, I will figure it out. If not, there’s worse things in the world to worry about than a truck. Good luck to everyone else.

Congrats on making the right decision for your situation, hopefully when the time comes to turn over the Tundra, a suitable BEV truck will be on the market!

That said, this is the last report of your truck progress, I trim back on tracking for trucks that are being abandoned to save me time.
