yep, only 26,000 miles so far : ) since August... and loving it...
it's everything Jim Farley said it would be. Period.
I drive mainly in the 'Sport' mode since I like the greater regeneration to slow the truck, versus using brakes... the 'normal' mode seems to coast a little too long for me, and the 'tow/haul' I've used sparingly, and actually has little to nothing to do with 'towing'...it's really just a little more regen than normal mode. Interesting.
I do like the 'stop and hold' so that the truck 'holds' you once you've come to a complete stop - especially in traffic, at long lights, and generally useful a lot more than I might have at first believed... I've grown so used to it that I've accidentally let my wife's Kia Sorento PHEV creep out into a traffic intersection a few times - her's, amazingly, has all the 'other' bells and driving whistles, but not this. Oh well!
I've been VERY comfortable driving this amazing truck for so many miles - and with that old 'vinyl' seating, who would even know the difference?! I find it very like my wife's 'upscale' leather seating in her 'upscale' 1/2 electric SUV... oh well.
I've grown accustomed to the screens, and the customization, and what screens I really USE a good bit. The 'normal' screen works just fine for most of the time, but I do find myself using the 'calm' screen some, too... either way, if you really want to 'see' your Battery Percentage Level, which some of lauded that Ford had forgotten to provide for us, it's easily seen on the 'graphic' provided in the normal screens, and certainly as a NUMBER on the calm screen. A simple push up/down on the steering wheel button provides either.
We've towed our 3,000lb 20' camper for probably 1/2 of those 25,000 miles, and in all sorts of terrain - mountains, beaches, anywhere. I find that the holdback to the real EV world is the charging infrastructure, the number and placement, and the confidence that they will actually be WORKING when you arrive. The battery RANGE is probably not going to change dramatically in the near future, but the number and working DC Fast Chargers will certainly need to. The announcement that Ford is moving to the NACS "Tesla" charging is most comforting - and not because I might be able to use a Supercharger on occasion, but for the shear silliness of the current HUGE and BULKY CCS charging equipment - the NACS is elegant, light, and easily handled, and sounds much more reliable, too. Ford, send me my adapter!
We've also used the PRO POWER to power our Camper WHILE we are towing it - that's pretty much a game changer if you want to keep the fridge 'cold' while traveling, have fans in the camper already providing a breeze while you are stopped for a 'potty' break, and even the ability to warm up a meal in the microwave - NO CAMPGROUND NEEDED!
The PRO POWER has also come into useful pleasure during a recent short power outage. You never know how long an outage is going to last, and if it's overnight, well, you're asleep anyway, but if it's in the heat of the day, and could go on for who knows how long - break out the power cord, plug the house into the truck, and turn on the PRO POWER - it's works, and runs EVERYTHING in my house, as needed, when needed, and for as long as needed. Well, you get the idea. We're used to camping, we know how the 'manage' electrical needs : )
The tires are holding up well, and the truck is smooth and easy. I've yet to have or need any 'shop' maintenance - I'll bet I never do.
Smiling. : )
