I don’t know if this has been discussed (didn’t find it in a search) but this weekend I noticed that ABRP now shows directions on the IPC just like Apple and Ford nav. In the video you can see the next turn between the temperature gauges and then it takes over the center display when you are close to the turn. Hopefully Ford will allow Apple and ABRP to trigger preconditioning one day.

They just recently released a new version and it may have been included in that. Great to see!

I just checked my ABRP on Android Auto. I have the turn popup in the middle of the IPC, but my "miles to arrival" in the middle of the left battery and power gauge only shows "0.0".

I get the same behavior with any map except Google Maps or the Ford nav, they both show the miles to arrival in the middle of the power gauge under the GOM.

Hopefully this is added in a future ABRP update or Android Auto update as I much prefer using ABRP on road trips over Google or Ford.

Just checked the release notes and it was added in the latest release for CarPlay. Hopefully Android gets the IPC display and Apple gets preconditioning one day.

Google is still 5.5.1, this may explain...

I just checked my phone and I haven’t actually installed 5.5.2 yet. Strange that it was already working.

Do y'all feel comfortable connecting the truck with Live Data thru ABRP? Likely everyone knows everything about my life already... but I do try to limit my data sharing to absolutely needed apps. :lock:

It already knows where you are and when you were there. Live data just gives it SOC and other truck info. If you open the app on your phone while you are charging it shows you the charge rate for those of us who don't have a '24 model.

I do link my ABRP with an OBD reader for the live data. Totally comfortable with it. It gives me all the information I need for navigation and accurate consumption numbers. ABRP with the OBD data is what the built in Ford navigation SHOULD be, and what Google maps should offer too.

Android received the 5.5.2 update yesterday. I still get the "0.0" on the miles to arrival under the GOM and no noticable changes from 5.5.1.

Does Google Maps show mileage and turns on the IPC with Android Auto?

It does for me. Both Google and Ford navigation show turns in the center of the IPC and miles to arrival under the GOM.

Anything else (ABRP, OSMand, Magic Earth) only shows the turn in the center of the IPC and "0.0" for the miles to destination under the GOM.

All navigation programs work as intended on the main center screen, which is a small screen in my Lightning Pro.

Yes, this is fantastic. Used it for longish trip last weekend and it is awesome. The only thing that would make it better is if it could pull the SoC straight from the vehicle. I know this is doable because Apple Maps does it. ABRP is now my go-to navigation map for long trips. (Even shows the number of slots available at the next Tesla SC stop)

Hopefully ABRP is working on getting those features added for Android. I also hope that preconditioning comes to the CarPlay navigation apps. Competition is a good thing even though Tesla, GM, and Rivian don’t think so.
