I have a T350HD high roof extended which does double duty hauling stuff (remodeled a house, still building another [3 years and running...], have a rental property) and weekend road trips, as well as towing my 4k lbs boat (though not very far-- 80 miles max). Downside is that I can't make it very comfy since I have to swap between the two setups easily. It's also a 2016 and creature comforts and tech have come a long way since. We're getting older and pickier and my wife will no longer camp in it anymore (she doesn't like our bathroom setup [a bucket] very much, though my son and I don't mind... I wonder if she would change her mind if the setup was "nicer"). Still probably my favorite vehicle ever.
Back when I first got a van I considered truck + trailer instead, or smaller van + trailer, but being able to stand up in the vehicle, the better visibility (forwards and to the sides at least), and the hassle of dealing with a trailer (no back up/360 cams at the time) steered me towards the van.
Anyone gone from van to pickup and care to share their experience?
