When this update is applied through fdrs with a laptop, you have to have a small micronuclear reactor providing auxiliary 12v power to the truck. How is this update installing OTA without shore power? Did someone finally write some software that isn't moronic and keeps the DC-DC converter on?
Great question, me too. I thought of the exact same thing as I’m hearing the swarm of bumblebees under my truck during the BC 1.4 update lol.

EV OTA's that require the vehicle to be inhibited use the HVB to feed the LVB during the install process.

It does not. That's why FDRS asks you to make sure you have a proper power supply connected before you update any module.

Actually they didn't used to and now only some can. It depends on the module being updated
Thanks for the clarification. I knew they didn't always do this, but I did not know it was module specific.

Also, has anyone established if being flagged for 24B56 would for some reason inhibit the OTA?
I don't know which post but IIRC someone asked this question already in this thread and a person who got the OTA replied they did not have the CSP done. EDIT: see post 23

If they could OTA the CSP that came out lately, they would have and never sent the CSP notices.

So what are they going to do for the CSP if the OTA has already updated the IPMA??
If an update for one module is not available, they skip it.

I had one dealer do the CSP but they didn't do the PSCM, they just did the IPMA. They never cleared it from my list. So I took it to another dealer. IPMA was not available but PSCM was, so they did that.

These guys do this all day long, won't be the first time a recall/CSP/TSB tells them to update something that's already been updated.
