Can any one recommended a California Dealer that can sell me a ESP policy at a reasonable price? I am in the buy back stage of my original F150L and will purchase another F150L replacement. Since my original purchase, I was advised that the law in California has changed and that we can only buy the ESP from a California dealer. Looking for best alternatives. Mahalo Plenty!

If it’s the same as Florida law only State licensed insurance sellers can sell if in Florida. But if you have an address in another State other than California or Florida, discount sellers like Granger https://grangerfordextendedwarranty.com/ can sell it to you and it can be used in any dealer in the US. Example, our primary home is in Florida but we have a NC address where we RV and we can use that address to purchase an ESP. That address is my Brother in Laws home.

The ESP is sent via email, not via snail mail.

Thank you for sharing the link. My dealer wanted $6k for the 10/100 w/$100 deductible and Granger is offering it for $2,465 and will finance it for $493 down and 18 months at 0%.

I do have a follow on question though. What are people's opinions on the deductible? We have only bought an extended warranty on one other vehicle (Lifetime on a Chrysler 300c in 2014) and we took the $100 deductible. It paid for itself with a transmission issue and rear main seal leak at around 100k miles. We also had a couple other smaller issues we had addressed at the same time we took it in (Driver's door handle no longer automatically unlocked and the driver's window made a horrible sound going up and down). They charged us 4 separate deductibles for the 4 separate issues. In retrospect, since we had about 10 issues past the original factory warranty, we should have opted to pay the extra $500 for the $0 deductible.

10/100 PremiumCare on the Lightning has a $450 difference between $100 deductible and $0. I generally keep my vehicles for decades, but don't take the extra warranty and have never regretted it. This is the first Ford I've owned since a '82 Mercury Capri and that vehicle was a money pit that lived up to the Fix Or Repair Daily joke. I believe Ford quality has come a long ways since the 80s, though I have been very frustrated with the number of small issues in the first 90 days, or I wouldn't have bought it.

I wish I could post a poll here to see how many of you bought an extended warranty vs those that passed and why you did or didn't.

Did you or didn't you?

I have a related question: when I look at the menu of items addressed by the extended warranty from Granger, it is always expressed in ICE terms. What the heck is covered when the vehicle is an EV?

Ford charges the deductible per visit, so you can show up with 1 issue or 100 and it's only one deductible.

I bought the warranty on my last F150 and will get it on my Lightning. It paid for itself on my last truck (sunroof module replacement by itself would have cost more than the warranty and I had other issues too). Granger's price is too cheap not to get it in my opinion. One repair could easily be more than the warranty.

It's also easy to use the warranty. It's in the Ford system so you don't have to do anything, the system will automatically bill Ford.

Thanks for the information, Chrysler is not so generous in my experience.

I will never ever buy a 3rd party warranty. I have a close friend that is an adjuster for one of the large 3rd party warranty company. She will tell you never to buy a warranty from her company.
