If I have a whole home generator How do I prevent my home generator from sending power to the Ford charge station pro when I lose power? Does the charge station pro have some kind of intelligent recognition so it knows when my house is running on a generator?

I bought a generac smart management module that will automatically load shed the truck when I lose power. Shutting off breakers is not an option especially if you're not home when it happens.

Well I think this is more of a whole home generator issue and not a FCSP issue.

If your fcsp is on your main panel which is switched on when you lose power, then there's not a way stop it from sending power to the fcsp without shutting off the breaker.

Although not sure why you want exclude the charging station to begin with. Pretty sure the draw of power in standby mode is pretty minimal and would only potentially be an issue if you were actively charging. Even then, there have many reports of people charging their vehicles from a standby generator. And if you have a load shedder, then theoretically if the draw is too much it should shed the power and prevent in issues from overworking your generator.

Thank you for the comment. Right now I don't have any load shedding because my generator powers my whole house when I lose power. I installed it before I had this truck. With the 80 amp draw from the charge station it would draw more amps then the generator could put out when the house loses power. I will put the generac load shedder in for just the FCSP.

Thanks again
