Charge Time Programming

I've had my Lightening since May, 2023 and love it. No complaints. But to this day, two service center dealerships have not been able to program my truck to charge between midnight and 7 am. I live in the San Diego area and the Kearny Mesa dealership was never able to get this done. Then I took my truck to the Aaron Ford service center and again, no one in the service department could program it. I took my truck at least 2-3 to each dealership with no success. When I received my charging adaptor recently I also requested help from Ford itself and they haven't even bothered to get back to me. So I ask fellow Lightening owners, what suggestions can you give me? I thank you in advance for your help.

Let's start a tree of questions:

Are you trying to do this with the Sync screen charging app or your Fordpass?

Does Ford navigation show your location correctly and plot route guidance relatively accurately?

When you plug in dose the EVSE make energy immediately available, ie. no separate time constraints in the EVSE?

Charging schedules are tied to locations, as in the physical GPS location of the truck. So it's not surprising they couldn't set it up for you if the truck was at the dealer and not physically at the charging location.

Also, the truck has to be actively plugged in and charging or you can't create the location. So you have to be below any configured charge limit so the truck is charging. Then you should be able to create the location in the truck.

Once the location is created then you should be able to edit the charging schedule for it via the truck or app no matter where the truck is. It's unfortunate they make it so unintuitive to set up a location in the first place though.

Some have reported issues when the time spans midnight. Try setting the start time at just mast midnight. No guarantees, but easy to try.

I suddenly can't change my target charge when I could before in the Ford Pass. Also, my Apple Maps isn't showing the correct energy level, as if I'm somehow disconnected.

Given the number of anomalies reported this morning I think the Ford server(s) need a boot.

Recommend reaching out to Ford's customer support again, specifically asking for escalation, and also checking if there's a software update or specific setting within the truck's settings that might be preventing the scheduled charging feature from working.
