Why would they do a lemon law buyback on the truck when the problem is a bunch things that aren't the truck??
It does seem odd unless the problem was found to be with his truck but mine seems to have the same error condition so I doubt that's the case. I'd be happy if a lawyer could get me the cost of the system back plus whatever it costs to rip it out... At least then I could spend that money on a functional auto transferring propane generator system and not be out in the cold.

The was a guy on here (@PungoteagueDave )who got Ford to buy the truck back simply because of the HIS debacle. He stated the truck itself was fine. So there is a precedent.
Not completely accurate but I cannot comment further.

IMO the whole concept (even if it worked) was completely impractically for the price for 99% of owners. For those with money to burn and extra vehicles to drive, it's a cool party trick if it worked. Either way, I do hope justice is Brought to you all that got swindled on this whole debacle.

That said, I feel worse for the 2022 drivers, they did not have forewarning it was a debacle. 2023 and after could've done their research and found the horror stories.

Actually for what it can do it is a pretty good value. The issue is that it’s the charger and truck that cause the system not to work. The actual HIS hardware is good. It has a lot of features even if you don’t use the truck.

What can it do without the truck connected?

It’s a system like a sol-ark or others. Has 4 MPPT solar controllers, a home battery connection, and the truck connector. It also comes with a 200A automatic transfer switch. While there are some more elegant packages that came out this year it has all the same functionality.
With the truck working you can charge the truck over the DC with direct solar or ac coupled solar.
with this system you can also use the 9.6kw directly and the 9.6 kw pro power at the same time.

I would say majority of owners don’t have solar, and for solar owners that have net metering (like me) isnt it pointless to tie it to solar? Unless you lose power like all the time?

my biggest gripe with the concept of HIS, is the truck handcuff to your house. The second biggest gripe is the exorbitant cost vs a regular generator. (Portable or standby)

after the first real world reviews hit, the third biggest gripe is hardly anybody got it to actually work
