All - I’m looking for your real world opinion on dash cams. I drive a ‘23 Lariat. In about two weeks it will have a cap on back. I’m looking for a PITA-free dash and rear-cam system. I’m just about tech and tool saturated. I don’t want to have to mess with it, but do want reliable, crystal clear footage out the front and back to have (and maybe share) when the kid in the Jetta (what is it about Jettas?) cuts me off or the Space Station lands on the road behind me or whatever. I’ll need something that can handle a separate camera cabled to the rear door of the new cap. Price matters less than quality and reliability. Any recommendations? Thank you.

Viofo is the current industry leader and very popular. I've had various Viofo dash cameras on every vehicle I've owned for the last decade. There's even a power adapter that will plug in behind the rear view mirror.

I went with Fitcam. Like it a lot. Likely better quality/more features app cams out there, but for me it was more bang for the buck/ease of install.

Easily can install front cam in under 5 min if handy. And it looks OEM to the untrained eye (my wife!) so can’t tell I spent more money on truck but I digress!

images look good but haven’t played too much with it outside of looking here and there in app. But have a trip to national park in few weeks so will see what it looks like cruising through the park.
I thought about the rear cam option but like I said was going for the OEM look ;)

Wish Ford would just integrate the cameras in the truck into the app and truck in such a cool way we would not need to have this discussion. Other EV’s do that besides just Tesla so hoping someday Ford does too. Maybe in the T3 and beyond will make such a leap.

Fit Cam X is a great product. I have two in Toyota vehicles and a couple of Viofo cameras in others. I like the OEM fit and finish of the Fit Cam X.
