So I decided to get a rear view mirror dash cam which includes a 2K front camera and rear 1080p camera. It has voice controls, GPS with speed, night vision, and motion sensors to record if truck is off. + more.
Overall packaging was kind of a mess. But the display was very nice. I needed to purchase a hard wire kit from them $15 and a 128gb SD card for $20.
It allowed me to either see full screen front camera, full screen rear, or split screen fro/back. You could also turn it off and it was a regular mirror. It came with attachments to either mount the rear camera on your license plate or inside the cab of the truck facing out the rear window.
I really wanted to like it but a few things I didn’t like made me return it.
1- the larger 12” model didn’t fit over my mirror correctly due to the camera on the back. It also recorded the black right side of my mirror slightly due to being so close to the stock mirror.
2- the hard wire kit said it was for any fuse set up but failed to mention the accessory fuse tap was not micro and there was no way to change it. So it did not fit up to my passenger fuse box at all.
3- The wires.. so many wires.. there were 3 wires coming right out of the top. 1 for power, 1 for GPS, and 1 for rear cam. It just looked very clunky up there.
Between all of that I ended up just returning. It annoyed me there were so many wires sticking straight up and also the fitment wasn’t great over the existing mirror due to the camera. Nail in the coffin for me was their fuse tap box wasn’t compatible.
Here are some pictures below of the dashcam. Keep in mind I had the rear cam just sitting on my dash it was facing the passenger seat.
