I was in Wave 2 and ordered a Lariat, but after ordering decided I wanted to switch from SR to ER. This response from the dealer seems odd - from the other accounts I've read here it seems like the dealers shouldn't have to "wait for the other orders". On the Ford site my order status says "accepted by dealer". They said:

The order portal that we use as a dealership has not opened for the Lightning orders yet. We have to have all five builds from the first wave of customers and have not received them yet.

I have put a note on your build file in my desk that you need the extended battery. I'll shoot you an email as soon as I'm able to go in and do the build. You'll also get a build summary email directly from Ford.

Anything here I should be concerned about?

Sounds fishy. Like they’re trying to squeeze someone in ahead of you maybe?

Do different dealers use different "order portals"? Maybe because they sell more than just Ford?

This page is from the playbook. It makes it sound like as soon as the dealer accepts the order it is automatically sent to WBDO (web based dealer ordering?) which would seem to indicate it can be altered and scheduled from there. But maybe the dealer sends the order to WBDO?

I asked my salesman to amend my order the day after I submitted and he accepted it. Very easy. Sent me the new build sheet is text and it updated online very quickly.

Your dealer probably had one wave one order, not five. Maybe he means five allocations across all waves. I’d be a little concerned about their ignorance lol.

Did you ever get this resolved. My dealer has just told me something similar. That they can't make a change to my order until Ford let's them in the system.

Doesn't make any sense. The dealer had to "add" remove bed scales and smart hitch for my order to be accepted. Then I asked them to remove the mobile charger. They did this no problem

These posts are over a year apart... I don't think you are dealing with the same issue
