Existing Transfer Switch no Ground

My shop has an existing neutral switching transfer switch with no ground. It has a nema 10-50 plug for the last owners generator. Do I need to add a ground or can I just get an adapter to nema 14-30?

I don't know the answer to your question but 61 bucks is fairly expensive for that adapter
