Ford Resumes Shipping NACS Charging Adapters (February 2025 batch)

Looking for some help as I am getting the run around from Ford. We received our adapter and it was part of the batch that was recalled. I received an e-mail on November 15 that our replacement was being sent out with the FAE number and the link to track the package. I get this error message when clicking on the tracking link " The tracking number you entered can't be found right now. Please check the number with the shipper or try again later."

Spoke to parts department, EV department and parts department again who then said that is a FedEx tracking number and to contact them. You are unable to speak to FedEx without entering a tracking number so can't get a human on that end. Is the FAE number actually a FedEx number or a Ford number? Any ideas who I can talk to to resolve this? Also, has anyone used their "faulty" one without issues? Very frustrating with the phone tag.

If you are asking if the original order # that Ford assigned to adapter is a tracking number for FedEx, the answer is NO!

And YES, many have used the recalled adapter without issue. If I needed to charge while waiting in the replacement, which I am still doing, I would use the original one.

The tracking number will be encoded into the link on your email, hover over it (without clicking) and you should see a long text that would be the equivalent of what you could type into your browser. It probably has a syntax error.

Thanks, yeah. Helpful Ford parts department employee told me that it was a FedEx tracking number. Spoke to someone else who gave me an actual tracking number that is incorrect. It is being escalated. Thinking I might need a replacement sent for my replacement if I can actually speak to anyone who knows what is going on.

It’s always best to update the due date AFTER you miss it @Ford Motor Company . That’s definitely the strategy that causes the least frustration for the customer in every industry.

I got tired of waiting for my Ford adapter, and I needed one for a Thanksgiving trip into a fast-charging desert area (except for Tesla Superchargers), so I ended up buying the A2Z NACS adapter. I received it yesterday and used it today. It's definitely heavy duty and it worked brilliantly. I used the FordPass app to activate the charge, and it charged nicely. My only hiccup was that the FordPass app didn't recognize that the charging had actually started, so I couldn't stop the charging in the app. I had to manually press the button at the charging port to stop the charging. Oddly, even though the FordPass app didn't recognize that the charging had started, it somehow still knew, because my credit card on the FordPass app still got charged LOL.

Something’s are easier to see than others. Credit cards are one of them. .

Congrates on the A2ZEV adapter purchase. I happen to have had both a recalled A2ZEV Typhoon and Ford/Tesla adapter. The recalls came within days of each other and I have received my new A2ZEV adapter and I have yet to hear anything about when I might see my Ford replacement.

But I’m confident it will be ‘Soon’, just like the BC 1.2,3,4 and now 5 update we were told we were getting over a year ago.

I just got pushed back to December as well. In hindsight, back a few months ago when they pushed the delivery to January 2025 seems to be very realistic. It is a shame they moved delivery up by months just to push it back again to save face.
