Am I the only one having intermittent issues with my Android phone connecting via Bluetooth and Android Auto launching automatically? There seems to be no rhyme or reason for this, as far as I have determined so far, but for every 10 times I get in my 4Runner, maybe 3 or 5 times the Bluetooth connects wirelessly, and Android Auto will launch. All the other times I have to try many things, rebooting the phone, selecting Sound then my phone as the source then try to launch Android Auto. I really prefer Android Auto of the Toyota system map, audio, infotainment system. I have deleted/forgotten my phone from the truck and the truck from my phone, etc. a few times now. I have done all of the basic troubleshooting for Bluetooth connectivity, and I am completely stumped. I am hoping it's not just me, well, you know what I mean. Not wishing bad things for other people, it would just be good to know if others are having the same issue. Please help. Thanks

It happens to me too, super annoying. I usually just turn the car radio off then back on, after a few tries it will connect to the phone. Seems like the issue is probably on the Toyota side.

Yes, happens to me too. S24 Ultra. Very hit and miss and annoying. When it doesn't automatically connect I just go to the Bluetooth settings on the infotainment and manually turn on the Android Auto.

Make sure you have WiFi turned on in your phone settings.

Actually, I've been testing my connectivity issue, my phone seems to connect to my car every time when I make sure my Wi-Fi is turned off on my phone before I start it 🤷

Weird. Mine is the complete opposite. I know that CarPlay requires a WI-FI connection.

I think I cracked the code, but I am hesitant to say what I did because I think if I do, when I jump in my 4Runner this morning to head off to work, the old issue will be back. Before I made this change, it was pretty much a 50-50 proposition (whether or not Android Auto would automatically launch). I am estimating that I've had about 10-15 consecutive startups with Android Auto launching. So........one more day of testing, then I will confirm what worked for me.

For those using Android Auto and are having intermittent connectivity issues, this is what seems to have solved my problem. For the "Startup" setting within the Android Auto app, I changed the setting for "Start Android Auto automatically" from "Always" to "Default (set by vehicle)" and ever since 100% success upon startup.
