Why do the “electric motor temp” and “high voltage battery temp” gauges both use a battery as an icon? I can never remember which is which.

The left is a battery and the right is supposed to be a motor. I can see how one could get them mixed up but if you look at the icon inside your battery level circle you'll know which one is a battery.

P.S. The little arrow indicates that your charging door is on the left.

Hello all! I have another entry for the dumb question thread. This one might win all time dumbest😅! Just got a nail in my driver’s side rear tire (barely over 2000 miles). Went to Discount Tire for a patch making sure to ask if they had ever worked on a Lightning and if they were familiar with the jack points. I was told of course that I shouldn’t worry, that they have worked with many of these and that all staff is well versed. You can probably see where this is going:

Forgive my ignorance but I don’t know enough about suspension to know if jacking these things up by the control arm would cause any kind of damage. I suspect not but figured I’d run it by the experts here just to be sure.

Does anyone know if this would cause any issues though?

I don't know for certain, but I'd have to assume the swingarm can handle the weight, it's carrying the wheel assembly.

We take our two EVs to Discount Tire for our seasonal Tire/Wheel swaps, and they have always been great. My wife's MachE was the first MachE my store did, and I took all kinds of printouts and talked with the manager (it was a newer location at the time). He brought over all the techs to show them as well; it left me impressed.

I always personally used that HUGE heavy wishbone 'arm' for any of my jacking... it works great...

it's also one of the easiest and lowest places to put your jack, especially on a high-profile framed truck like this...
