After what it seems like years of waiting dating back to seriously looking at Taycan, waiting for the facelift details, then the Macan EV release, and finally placing an order for Macan Turbo in April 2024...it's finally come in Port of Auckland yesterday (March 17) and arrived at the dealer today (March 18), less than a day from port to dealership is pretty impressive to me.
The build date is November 17, 2024 (MY25) and made it onto the ship at Bremerhaven on 24 December. In what could be a record for a Macan voyage it took 83 days to get Auckland. Unfortunately because of the build date it caught one of the more inefficient voyages to Auckland, it's actually possible to get here in 26 days. Oh well, it survived the voyage, fending off pirates around Western Africa, avoiding conflict with the Chinese military as they circumnavigated Australia, and had to turn back from Brisbane to avoid a tropical cyclone getting safe harbour in Sydney, then going back again to Brisbane, before making it's final leg to me in Auckland.
It's looking like I will have the car in a day or so and to say I'm excited is an understatement. The Macan Turbo will be joining our BMW iX M60 (Storm Bay 2024) and an Abarth 500e (Acid Green 2024).
It's a maxed build - Turbo's are very highly spec'ed in NZ anyway, but I added 22" RS Spyder wheels, black calibers, deleted all Turbonite except for the Porsche badges and replaced gloss black on the exterior, extended black leather, leather door trim inserts, 4-zone ac, rear axle steering, Burmester, passenger display, Porsche Design Chrono, Noise insulated glass, Tinted head lights and tail lights, 18-way seats with heating and cooling, GT racetex, wheel, centre frame in racetex, and a number of other things.
Photos of delivery will be provided, in the meantime some dealership provided pics.
