Anyone else feel like the person that delivered the truck had a little too much fun "testing it out" on the way? LOL
You should see how the logistics drivers are around the plant. You may baby your vehicles, and believe it's been driven nicely all it's life, but it's beaten like a mule for the first couple of miles. If you saw how they drove them from the plant to the shipping site, you might not buy a new vehicle ever again.

My truck had the same issues. Turned out to be a short in the wiring harness. Tech had to go through it connection by connection. Very time consuming. Fixed and no problems since

UPDATE!!

The service manager has been in contact with Ford EV engineers. The engineer advise them to "reset" the BMS (Battery Monitor Sensor) and then recharge the new 12v battery. The vehicle now starts when requested. The Ford engineer advised to try and re-create the situation and if it fails again, it is probably the HVB. If not it may have been the original 12v being
depleted and caused the BMS to fail or vice versa. The dealership is going take the truck off the charger and leave outside and probably drive it a bit this afternoon. Then let it sit overnight not hooked up and see if the condition repeats tomorrow. If not, I can take the vehicle.

I asked if they would let me see the battery status for both the HVB and 12v before leaving with the vehicle by either being hooked up to their equipment or me connecting an ODBII scanner. They advised that their tech would provide battery info. They said all documentation and notes would be provided.

Being that the selling dealership drove it around their lot without issue, I don't if the issue can be re-created that easily. It may take a long drive that cause something to fail. Only time will tell.

Anyone hear of this type of issue or any concerns/questions that I should address before taking the vehicle (assuming they can't re-create the issue by tomorrow)?

Thanks in advance!!

I would have walked away on this one. Just me. I can handle a few minor cosmetic flaws which all vehicles typically have, but not something like this.

They can get all that info from PTS.

There certainly is the possibility that you may have a LVB bad from stock. Ive had 12v batteries fail with as little as 5K miles. From my understanding, the LVB provides power to everything, including starting, shifting, etc. The HVB only gives power to the motors and to recharge the LVB. I dont see how a bad HVB would prevent you from actually starting the truck unless software dictates so. Fingers crossed they replace the LVB and all is good.

I apologize if there is a thread somewhere else that will help but here is issue…and note this is 3rd party info as I was unable to be at delivery but my wife was there.

Brand new Flash that I believe was manufactured in October 24 based on the sticker and was delivered to dealer lot on October 28th. Finally closed the deal and they agreed to deliver the car by driving it to our house approximately 180 miles from the dealer. I have advised the dealer that we will not take official delivery until we inspect the truck upon delivery to our house and the agreed. I have an email from them saying as much.

Now the problem…all looked good with the truck so my wife went to test drive it. She got in the truck with foot on break and pressed the start and the truck has power but it will not shift out of Park. The driver who delivered the truck could also not get it started. Thpic below was the only idiot lights on dash.

They disconnected the battery and re-connected still no go. The called their service who called then called a Ford mobile tech who came and replaced the 12v battery and still no go. Tech told driver that he thinks it is the HVB,. My wife had to leave so I’m hearing this info from my son. Getting ready to call the GM of dealer but was wondering if there is something simple and stupid that we can try before I tell him to give me a different truck.

Some details on mechanical model options:
-Pro Power
-Max Towing

Any thoughts?

I do believe that these trucks will not ship from park with a door open or a jar. Maybe something simple as a door latch, switch or latch monitor

It will shift out of park if your seat belt is latched.

Seems a bit premature to throw in the towel. Maybe it was simply a dead LV battery or bad BMS. I’d rather have a bad LV battery or BMS replaced (temporary inconvenience) than an unfixable cosmetic flaw.

With a vehicle delivered to the OP's house almost a week ago that wouldn't start after the delivery person drove it there. The battery was replaced the next day, but that didn't correct the no start. $75k new vehicle that is DOA. Have them pickup the truck and find another one for heaven's sake. I can live with a couple minor nit picky cosmetic issues. (I'm referring to issues so minor most people wouldn't even notice. I'm just a picky person)

Sounds like the BMS wasn't charging the LVB correctly, it discharged on the drive to the house and the new one discharged while in the driveway or was never charged before or after it was installed. Resetting the BMS and charging the LVB all the way recalibrates the BMS. Is interesting why the BMS didn't reset itself when it was disconnected during the LVB replacement at the house. The LVB BMS may be faulty. Would keep an eye on LVB charge level for a while.

Another update!1

Getting close to throwing in the towel! So the vehicle started this AM and they took it out for a ride. Immediately started throwing errors so back into the shop. I am being told that the main culprit is code BECM-P0AA6- High Isolation Fault on High Voltage Side. They said they tested the HVB and it tested good. The hunt for the cause of the error will continue tomorrow. I know it could possibly be a connector or something. Question is could that cause anything else to go prematurely in the future.

They will get to the bottom of this and you will be good to go. P0AA6 is a very intermittent issue which is very hard to diagnose. Most likely next step is they contact Ford engineering and they actually have the tech wear a video headset and the engineering team walks them through the diagnostic process. Step 1 can take up to 9 hours.
