As reported in the "2.3.0 rolling out" thread I can confirm that this update does have issues.
The Adaptive Cruise setting is no longer retained by the truck and has to be switched back on before beginning each trip. After switching on Adaptive Cruise you then have to switch on Speed Sign Recognition. As moving these settings to the "Driver Assistance Menu" was one of the specific changes on this update, it's clearly caused by this update.

As the frequency of OTA increase, Ford needs to work on having the ability to quickly rollout fixes when such obvious mistakes occur.

I also have now have a black border around the CarPlay window, could this be a move towards a "Fullscreen CarPlay"?

In my experience and as reported by others (see quote below) the setting only resets if you observe it. Like Heisenberg's Bug, it only happens when observed. If you set it to adaptive and then exit the settings and don't go back to that page the feature works fine.

Further update on this issue:

It seems the APIM settings related to ACC/SSR are messed up. Not the ACC itself. I learned that If I "set it and forget it” the ACC with SSR works as expected. The issue arises when you restart your truck and you purposely go to SYNC Settings -> Features -> Cruise Control to verify the AAC settings. That’s when it messes it up. It does not just deactivates the SSR but the CC mode itself shows no mode is selected:

When you tap "Adaptive Cruise Control" it will show that your "Speed Sign Recognition" is deactivated. But if fact, it deactivates this feature right when you enter this menu. So as long as you re-activate it and don’t enter this menu afterwards, it works!

It seems to me, that the APIM software has a bug, where it does not retain ACC and SSR setting in its EEPROM and when you enter this AAC menu, default values are loaded. I believe this bug was introduced when Ford developers moved the SSR under AAC menu.

@Ford Motor Company, please pass on this message to your APIM development team

I don't go into the settings until I notice that it's not switched on, it comes to my attention when I pass the first speed limit sign on my commute.

So when you notice its not working, that's when you enter that ACC menu, and switch SSR on (or toggle it off/on if its on). After this, do not enter the cruise control menu in Features section, as doing so will revert your changes and will switch SSR off, and you will have to repeat the procedure. Just as mentioned earlier: SET IT AND FORGET IT. Its a workaround I've been using until FORD fixes this feature.

The crazy thing is that it does remember my speed tolerance setting! Did you hear back from the official Ford account when they asked you to PM them with your VIN?
